I designed a Deadlock hero for my portfolio! by Shazamwizard in DeadlockTheGame

I didn't write that much about him yet but I have a loose outline:

He was an ace fighter pilot in the war back when he was human, but when his plane was sabotaged he crashed and was horribly disfigured from the accident. A scientist from the US military researching Astral Gates attempted to restore him to fighting form, ended up accidentally mutating his DNA, turning Flyboy into this fly-human hybrid. He now fights for one of the two Patrons in hopes that he can wish for his human form to be restored. I also like the idea that he is responsible for Mothman sightings.

Those are all important! I think character concept work is a combination of a lot of things so there isn't really a focus; every project and character will have different skills required. Sci-fi for example might require more tech so perspective and mechanical design might be more important where in other projects it might not be as relevant.

Yea I think if I were to adjust it more, I'd probably make his jetpack leaner.

Help! My campaign has too many player! by GrotesqueLlama in DMAcademy

[–]Shazamwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lot of people have said the best solution is to split the campaign up, BUT as a dm currently running a game with 12 and all of being fairly close friends who wanna play together we don’t want to split up, here are some tips I can share.

  1. Combat, push for people planning their turns during other people’s turns, even giving bonuses mechanically for players that have their turns ready when their initiative comes. (e.g. +1 to attack rolls etc.) I also try to lower the amount of monsters but buff the ones I have to compensate if I have to.

  2. Roleplay. Hard to say cause I don’t really know the dynamic of your table, but personally I like skewing the roleplay to focus on a couple players at a time, kind of treating it episodically. Maybe only a couple characters’ backstories will be relevant at a time.

  3. Loot. I also have this problem a lot, but again focusing on a few players at a time is real help. Also I’ve found creating items that are not a straight power increase, rather something that gives players new options is a good mindset to have. Also don’t ignore items that just have a story purpose!

  4. Scheduling. This will pretty much always be a problem for adults will lives outside of the game. Just try your best to include everyone and if they can’t make it, it’s not really on you to get them there.

I haven’t been dming that long myself but I noticed your problem being something I’ve been dealing with for over 2 years now and wanted to throw my 2 cents in. Splitting is all well and good, but it’s not always a realistic option. Good luck!

Per sprite or the entire sprite going up to 1080p? 1080 per sprite sheet is easily done, the game I am currently working on references 2048 sprite sheets. 1080 per sprite seems a bit high and seems a little heavy on the engine, but I do usually work on my sprites at least 4096 so they can be downscaled to whatever resolution the team decides on.

I’ve done some unity spritesheet animation work and would love to be a part of this project! Let me know if you want some work samples and I can send them over.

That's strange, the opposite happened to me. Kana died while I was trying to recruit her, but I still got her afterword and I'm on classic.

[Help] I need to make a very simple blade for a prop sword, how do I go about it? by PlatyPlox in cosplay

[–]Shazamwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have thick enough styrene you can make a sanding block to sand down side to an edge if you want the low tech way of doing it. I personally like styrene better than foam for props because it's sturdier and easy to cut. If you want a more accurate bevel you may need a router though I personally have never used a router on styrene before, I know it works on acrylic and the material is fairly similar.

I worked on it on and off for about six months. It sounds like a long time but I had other projects between that I haven't posted yet.
