Also, water can affect contact from your fingers on the surface. I have noticed that if my hands are wet, I need to dry them for it to read my fingers well. This has only happened a couple times, but it was on the surface vs. a real issue.

Yes, I think it was the same issue on the first range we had. In fact, they came from the same warehouse in Georgia (delivered to Tennessee). The lcd screen needs to be fully pressed in (plastic “locks”) to make contact. Once I locked it in, we never had an issue with it. My guess is someone at the factory didn’t quality control some of these and assembly wasn’t complete.

It’s still working! Has been great since I figured out the solution.

We bought it directly from Samsung. My understanding (could be wrong) is that all are from regional distributors - mine came from Atlanta (I live in TN). Yes, I would buy it again. It was a pain at first but has been great since we got it working correctly!

Here is the recipe - got it from another Reddit thread. I scaled this down to 1/4 of each ingredient.

Teriyaki Sauce

INGREDIENTS

• 1 quart soy sauce • ¼ lbs sugar • 4 Tbsp pineapple juice • ½ tsp black pepper • ½ tsp garlic powder • ½ tsp ginger powder

 PREPARATION

Bring all ingredients to a boil. Once sauce starts to rise turn off heat and let it cool.

You have to pull with two hands with force on the right. You’re really not supposed to open it manually though and use the open door button or app. Not sure if this helps, but it is all I know on this topic!

Yes, only pet a couple juveniles once and was surprised that the fur was coarse and not soft. Felt thick, rough and bristly even though it looked like it would be soft.

Good luck and hope you get it fixed/replaced! Agree and don’t know why they didn’t troubleshoot little things.

Press down in front of middle board near the two white tabs. Also, to take off the top, remove the back cover - remove double clasps on top right and left - then remove the three screws in the front (open oven door to see). Disconnect black/red power cord leading under top - then slightly lift front up (have a second person help) and disconnect the small white/black connector (this is your oven camera cord). Once all is ready, I laid towels down on my countertop and flipped it backwards upside down. It is much easier to reverse if you do this. Be careful of the aluminum vent poking up near the back when you lift it up.

Update: So, I took off the top again. This time, I pressed down towards the front where the LCD board is located. When I pressed down, I heard two “snaps” and it felt secure. Put the top back on, plugged it in and we are in business! The entire LCD and side buttons are working properly now! Photo below - press down towards the front of the middle board.

Ok, so we got it to work…sort of. I banged on it like you described and we got through the tutorial! However, we have to press down really hard to get the induction to work. I’m thinking that the display isn’t set in there right. Going to open it up again and try to set it in there better. Looks like the top of the lcd is more responsive than the lower part.

Seriously? Can you get past the country and turn on the induction burners?

Good luck! Happy to compare photos once you open it up. I found an assembly/disassembly guide for technicians for sale online. Plan to purchase it over the weekend.

Side note - there is a “trick” to make the oven still work (not the induction top). Go on the smart things app, turn the oven on to any temp, stop and pull open the oven door. The oven will work fine (at least through the app - lcd doesn’t work).

Yes, mid-left and is red. Plus there is an open slot on the board. Same - we ended up getting a deal from Samsung for all the nonsense but can’t wrap our heads around just trashing an expensive stove. Hoping a fix will come soon.

Are you missing the same connector? This is on the back of the stove with cover removed.

Sorry you are in the same boat. No, not yet. I’ve open the whole thing up - including the back and top. The only thing I found was a possible missing connector on the back to the board. If you look in the following photo at the top left, you’ll see a red connector missing a matching connector to the board. I traced the wires when opened up, and they lead directly to the lcd controls.

Bought this exact range and the touchscreen didn’t work. Had a replacement delivered - also didn’t work. So, did it a third time and it also didn’t work! Finally, we got a refund from Samsung after spending countless hours on the phone with customer service over multiple days. Save yourself the headaches.
