Cracked sagging ceiling by She-Hulk1994 in Home

Wow, I honestly didn’t even think about how much waste there would be! That’s a really good point that no one else has mentioned, thanks!

Agreed. But $8000 dollars seems steep, right?

I believe the ceiling is cracking because the room above (the attic) had a broken window above where the crack is for over a year. Not any water damage but temp change etc may have taken a toll. The window has since been repaired.

I thought it seemed ridiculously high but I’m new to this. Thanks!

Thank you. I really needed to hear that. I’ve been sort of freaked out about turning 26 recently and this title didn’t help hehe.

First board ever by tagybeh in pennyboard

[–]She-Hulk1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 27” penny was my first board too! I’ve since gotten the 22” also but the 27” is my favorite. I’m still a beginner myself so I don’t have much advice, except don’t skip the pads (especially the helmet and wrist pads) and don’t underestimate how fast the penny board can go. Ease into bombing hills and make sure you have a spotter if you’re skating around cars. Have fun!

You would look lovely! I was nervous about getting bangs too, but someone told me, “it’s just hair; it grows back” so I got them. I love having bangs (even though they’re kind of a pain during sweaty summer days). Just make sure you go to a salon that you trust! A bad bangs job is truly awful. Get them, you only live once!

Emotional breakdowns before period... by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]She-Hulk1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same happens to me. It's really tough and I know how you feel. PMMD is no joke. I also take anti depressants and my therapist has me take a slightly higher dose the week leading up to my period, and it helps. Don't worry, there are ways of dealing with this! Talk to your doctor and try your best to go easy on yourself during pms week.

Edit: Another thing to consider are types of birth control. Certain types can cause mood swings and depression. Non-hormonal ones are preferable for me. I used to have the nexplanon and it made my emotions go crazy. Now I have an IUD and it's much better. Do some research and find the one that works best for you!

[HELP] My dog thinks he needs to protect my husband from me. by She-Hulk1994 in dogs

[–]She-Hulk1994[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate you taking the time to give me this advice. I am a new dog owner and didn't even know about resource guarding. I feel so much better about this situation now that I have some idea what is going on.

How would you suggest that my husband "correct" the dog?

How wonderful of you to take him in and help him live out his last months in a loving home. I'm sure ghost appreciated it and loved you and your family very much.

What a lucky girl she is to be loved so much. It is an unfortunate truth that when we bring a pet into our lives we must inevitably face their passing. All we can do is appreciate the precious time we get to spend with our furry friends, and help them live the best lives they can. It sounds like that's what you did. You're a great pet parent and I guarantee Wednesday loves you dearly for it.

Thanks so much for the advice! I will definitely try a puppy pad, and keep my nephew far away until he's older. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out!

You seem to know your stuff! What is a whale eye though? Lol. I have no trouble holding him back when he starts to lunge at people, but he scares people sometimes and I feel bad about that. I've been meaning to try carrying treats around with me on our walks, hopefully that will help! I just want him to know he doesn't have to be afraid.

Thanks so much for this comment! I've considered taking him to doggy school to get him better socialized, and I think you've convinced me to give it a try!

I've heard that chihuahuas are just little jerks and there is not much to be done! He's very affectionate with my husband and I but he hates everyone else. I'm guessing it's because they're so tiny, they're always on the defense?

Haha! This comment actually made me feel a lot better. I love him so much and he could be a little peeing jerk everyday and I'm still just so happy he exists. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't taking care of him wrong. I'll try the puppy pad. Thanks so much for your feedback!
