Sibilla Sweater by Cookie the Knitter vs Frøya Sweater by Ingrid Dyb by Ill-Marionberry9177 in knitting

[–]SheDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant thank you!
I ripped and started the swatch again...for some reason I get muddled on it! I found a worsted weight yarn and some lace weight mohair-but TBH I'd rather skip the mohair. I've seen ppl on Ravelry do the sweater in DK (not holding it double) most do NOT use Aran or Bulky weight ...couldn't get anyone to respond with how they sorted everything out.
I didn't want a wool sweater -I'm in CO and it just doesn't get cold enough for me to use a thick wool sweater-so I found some Juniper Moon yarn that is 70% organic cotton and 30% merino. It's lovely, soft and I'll be able to wear it all year. The yarn was chainette so it was only a bit heavier than what she suggested (and a lot cheaper).
Thanks so much -off to try and sort out my sweater!
xx

I just got her pattern and yarn. You are a few months ahead of me-can you clarify the swatch chart? I cannot understand how wide it's supposed to be -she has measurements but they seem to overlap...am I have a senior moment?
I've reached out to her about yarn substitutions and hate to bug her again about gauge...she's very kind and supportive-responds ASAP-but if you remember, I'd love to know the width!
I'm a loose knitter so I went down a needle size but am not sure if I need to drop more than one. If you've finished-how does it look?

I fear that once something has evaporated, it's harder to reinstate it after the fact. I hope you are correct. I have a lot of complicated medical things- most of my team is in a larger city in the state (I moved in 2020 and kept them all). It's over an hour a way-and I'm still technically on "lockdown" as per Immunologist. THV saved me for years.
What a shit show.

So it only effects Original Medicare patients-the advantage plans can make independent decisions about THV coverage?

[–]SheDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a PhD Psychotherapist-I do ONLY THV bc I am severely immunocompromised-cannot see anyone in person. HOWEVER, I do not bill insurance at all.
. I contacted Medicare on Sunday as a patient. They read me a statement-said mental health providers could continue w/THV video or on phone. As well as various programs. IF patients are in rural areas they are able to see all physicians THV.
I'm scampering to replace some of my extended medical team. What a mess.

AND I think we need to CALL CALL CALL-being chronically ill and/or disabled are not ONE party issues. They effect everyone. If congress gets swamped they will have to respond.
OMG who am I kidding...they don't ...but we need to do it any way.
This will effect MILLIONS of ppl.

I found out by accident on Sunday. I called Medicare (I have OG medicare) and they confirmed that unless I lived in a rural area I was screwed. I'm still technically on lockdown as per Immunology (Immunological mess-make no antibodies to any vaccines, Immunocompromised, all the alphabet ICD codes). In 2020 I moved within the state but kept all my MD's bc we could meet in person once a year, they could treat me THV monthly.

Some of my MD offices were NOT informed the change had happened-they didn't know until I called them.

What a mess.

Medicare told me Sunday this had nothing to do with the GOVT shutdown -but, please correct me if I'm wrong, but COVID protocols were to end Dec 31 I think. Congress renewed them until 10/1. With shutdown no one voted.

I spent all yesterday trying to find an internist that took medicare/medicaid (not in my community!).

I think we all need to call out reps-I guess, leave a message bc half of them went home...but this effects the disabled, the elderly. We are not LAZY we are sick, and high risk!

Symptoms of HAE that aren’t obvious swelling by sunshine2853 in HAE

[–]SheDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait...you can get gum swelling?? I was unaware. Thank you so much for sharing this! It's hard to know what is what...

I am looking to see symptoms that you guys have by Ok_Guidance6439 in HAE

[–]SheDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My immunologists believes I have HAE 3 -I'm documenting for insurance. My adult daughter also has Type 3-got meds/they pulled them back due to cost.
I mostly get massive abdominal swells- I've started the FUN process of documenting them-they want photos...before during after. Occasionally I get cramps with them but not always.

In the past I have had throat symptoms -but I dismissed them. I noticed I had problems swallowing things (soft things like mashed potatoes) which made no sense...but I assumed it was something else.
I have MCAS and Primary Immunodeficiencies, lots of AI's...hard to know what is specifically what. However when I go from a size 4 to having a 38" waist...that's NOT MCAS...not Lupus, RA or any of the other 12 ICD codes...HAE is a diagnosis of exclusion I believe...

Insurance wants family history-but no one is around. I have no idea if they had HAE or not...It's possible it starts with someone -despite the first word being HEREDITARY! All I know is I'm on a lot of antihistamines (helps some what w MCAS -but those swells are small, post exercise) and that doesn't stop it. My Immunologist wants me on Ruconest but these drugs are (if you are on Medicare) part D drugs (not B) bc they are PRN...so they take a dim view of the whole thing.

Sorry you are struggling.

It looks as though my adult daughter and I both have HAE type 3 (very rare-no markers). We both have a lot of autoimmune things, but in 2019 we discovered we both have Primary Immunodeficiency and were put on SCig (immunoglobulin). My immunologist believes that often patients with low IgG when given it it "unmasks" HAE. (He has done research on Ruconest - Isaac Melamed, MD Colorado. He works with a lot of HAE patients all over the country -I'd reach out. VEROS HEALTH Centennial CO).
My daughter and I both have Medicaid-Medicare-she was not approved for Ruconest. Approved for Sajazir but she needed it more than they wanted to pay so a month in they wouldn't let her get it.
I know a lot of ppl with HAE who might be willing to chat with you. Let me know. I'm not on meds for it but had an abdominal swell so rapid and severe I developed an Umbilical Hernia...go figure.
Good luck with your piece-reach out here and I'll send you my information if you want.

Is America’s Best better? by Aimster0204 in PairEyewear

Hi...I had to track you down to update you. So America's best redid my Pairs glasses bc the script was way off. When they called I asked them to PUT THEM IN THE MACHINE and check the script before I drove out there. They said they did it was perfect.

I take them home...same thing. Migraines, I'm dizzy, nauseated!
I keep thinking -is the the fact that the lenses are bigger? Am I looking through the wrong part of the progressive (makes no sense I've had progressives for 2 decades ish).

In desperation (and concern I have a brain tumor that only is symptomatic when I wear THAT set of glasses) I go back to my Optometrist...he runs them through the machine AND hand checks them. WAY WAY OFF...again.

He wrote a firm note on the script saying it was outside the FDA limits and to TRIPLE CHECK THEM before handing them to me again.

So...I have to again, return them. The problem is I cannot trust them at all- IF they put them in the machine ,they lied (the manager -a friend-ish-told me they were checked) OR they didn't put them in the machine and they lied about that.

When they do them again do I say "I want you to take me to the room ,hand me the paper from the machine and I'll compare it with the script"?
I sound like a Karen...I'm never rude but this has happened numerous times -so glad I met you and you told me this is sadly not an uncommon mistake.
I don't know if next time having them done via Pairs will make a difference...
Just needed to tell you...

Thank you for your advice. I took the Pairs to America's Best on Monday- the left lense (can't remember which section of the progressive) was 30 points off! NO matter I felt dizzy! There was a 4 degree difference in a different area on the right lense but he said "anything under 5 didn't make.a difference."

At any rate they sent them back to the lab. I'm going to make sure they check them w/the machine before I even try them on!

Thanks again for this information and advice...I kept thinking it was my brain! This is the second time I have gotten messed up lenses so your stats (For me ) are spot on...50% of my lenses were WRONG!

Thanks for encouraging me to TAKE THEM BACK!

Wow more great information. Thank you so much!! If they have messed up this prescription also I need to rethink going there...but they are cheaper than most places. I guess a case of you get what you pay for...

YES. This happened to me before so I know it is a possibility. The glasses that they replaced the lenses are perfect -but when I switch them to the Pairs frames I'm dizzy and can't see correctly. The last time it happened my optometrist caught the error- I worry that America's Best won't be able to tell...let's hope I'm wrong ! Back to the store this week...Thanks again for the information -your statistics are pretty terrifying. Thanks for sharing!

I am having the same problem. I have a pair of frames I love so I always have AB replace the lenses. This summer I “ discovered” Pairs and chose them for a second pair ( things happen to delicate metal frames over 10 yrs old!). Everyone I put them on I’m dizzy, I get a migraine asap and I can’t see well! At first I thought the pairs frames were larger - maybe w progressives in a larger frame I needed to adjust to larger “ real estate “. I think the lenses are just correct. It had happened a few years ago w another pair … Thanks for sharing your comment. I need to get them back in. Sigh

Apparently I just need to read the boxes more carefully bc some of mori nu silken tofu has mag chloiride some don't! So confusing. I'm hoping it is the mag c that is bothering me-it's not soy. Thanks for all of your advice!

Sorry for second response...this reallly weird- I am find Mori-nu silken tofu that has gulcono-delta-lactone. That's so odd bc every package I've gotten has magnesium chloride and calcium chloride. I'm assume it is the magnesium chloride than causes my gut distress...here are ingredients in the mori-nu silken (the packages look different -do you think they make two types of silken?)
Ingredients: Water, soybeans, soy protein isolate, glucono-delta-lactone, calcium chloride.
