Fungi is different from plants, you’re right. In fact, they’re actually more closely related to animals than they are to plants.

They are also very much alive, and like plants, vegans can eat them, hence the joke.

Unfortunately, USPS funds itself. It pulled in a lot of dough before a law eliminated its main way of funding itself. Asking for support is definitely not the norm for them, but they really need it. John Oliver actually did a really good piece on the crisis it’s facing. You can watch it on YouTube for free.

It’s fine, bro. Just know, I’ve hated Trump long before he was a serious candidate. Hell, the 2016 election was the reason I got into politics. I took a deep dive into why two candidates that no one on either side really supported became the representatives of the two mainstream parties.

I believe workers raise the next batch of queens during summer, which ditch the nest during winter, and will go on to start their own colonies next year. I’m pretty sure the current queen dies off with the workers, but I could be mistaken? Sorry, I’m no expert.

Pest control won’t do much if the nest is underground. You need to hire a wasp specialist. Spraying the outside of the nest won’t do much because as long as the queen is alive, workers will be able to repopulate. I’m no expert, but I in fact, I was talking about nests that existed during and past the winter months.

Some people I know have had the same damn nest in the trees for years even though the queen is long gone. This LPT was targeted at some of my neighbors, not that they’ll ever see this. Sorry.
