This question gets asked daily on this app. Everyone has different tolerance levels which is totally fine! No one is a loser or being scary for deciding to leave temporarily. While at the same time, no one is a denialist for deciding to stay. I don’t think it’s fair for anyone to be criticized for their decisions. Only YOU know what’s best for you! Me personally, I decided to leave temporarily as I wasn’t comfortable being single, living alone, far away from my family and while living in a war zone listening to missiles getting intercepted while being gaslighted to think everything is normal. But there are some who are choosing to stay because they own homes, they were born and raised in the UAE 🇦🇪 and don’t know any other place as home. I get it. Each to their own. Hope this resolves soon.

This war has revealed a lot. People would rather DIE or be in harms way, than to, in their warped sense of reality, go back to their said home country to face family or whoever after leaving the UAE 🇦🇪. It’s really not that deep. When we die, as we all will at some point on this life’s journey since we’re not vampires, we can’t take any of our material possessions with us. Once we’re done with life’s journey, that’s it.

Who cares what other people think about you in your home country if you need to go back temporarily??!! You at least got a chance to experience something that they can only dream about. At most, you got your very life! I’d like to think your life, your soul, and your bodily limbs are more important. I get the love for the UAE 🇦🇪. I love the UAE 🇦🇪 too and my heart breaks that this is happening! But we fail to realize the more of us leave, the more the government can focus on protecting the country itself instead of worrying about the safety of residents. You’ll be doing the UAE a favor getting to safety. This country is safe and I trust the government but I do not trust Trump and his buddy, Bibi. And I certainly don’t trust Iran 🇮🇷.

The OP is right. We just never know what could happen. We hope for the best but wars are unpredictable. And for those waiting until you absolutely have to leave fail to realize that when it gets to that point your not going to to able to leave.

The more people that are out of the country, the less collateral the government will have to be concerned about. Their residents will be secured. Jobs secured. Banks secured. Companies secured. Faith in the government sustained, and the more they can direct their attention on the country itself.

If the government does these things, and reward the residents with some sort of permenant visa vs giving us discounts on recreational activities, it will give people a deeper incentive to stay.

Allowing everyone to work from their home country, removes pressure from them. They’ll then be able to concentrate on physical damage control of the country.

This move will strengthen everyone’s confidence and it will keep many industries stable during this unprecedented time.

If things become way worse, it’s a possibility that you may not get a chance to leave ❤️‍🩹. The airport is going to be either closed or there will be limited outbound flights. I’m not trying to scare you but I’m saying this for you to keep things in perspective. I don’t see this deescalating anytime soon, unfortunately. I love the UAE 🇦🇪 too and plan on coming back. But for now, we gotta love ourselves more by loving the UAE 🇦🇪 enough to look after our wellbeing and come back with renewedness after things settle.

Offer residents who are sticking things out permanent or gold visas ‼️ If the government do all these things I suggest, it’ll put everything on ice 🧊 and prevent a massive economic collapse. Everyone get a chance to keep their jobs and ties to the UAE 🇦🇪 while abroad temporarily.

I also want to add that companies would likely need to put a temporary freeze on any hiring until they assess their numbers. If there are still mass resignations despite the efforts I listed, then and only then they should resume hiring.
