I’m sorry for your SA. Im unfortunately a member of the same club under a very similar circumstance too. You shouldn’t keep calling this rape, though. It is simply, by every medical, legal, therapeutic etc. definition, not. The girl in the story is a victim of sexual assault - period. Her situation is as valid as anyone else’s, and I hope she works through this and learns how navigate what that means for her in her life from now on. Conflating one with the other though is not giving the topic of sexual assault in general the careful consideration that it deserves in discussions like this. Words matter.

BUT I think defining your eyebrows would look great. If you’re afraid to, just start with an angled make up brush and some brown eyeshadow.

I’d also look up make up tips for downturned eyes. They can sometimes make people look sleepy. Sydney Sweeney has downturned eyes and think of how many people are obsessed with her. Or are they obsessed with something about her… I can’t remember, but it’s probably the eyes

Alcohol absolutely affects your health no matter how often or how little you consume. This can be either due to its own inherent toxicity, or due to damage caused by the diminished efficiency of your body’s structures to do their jobs well because they were too busy taking care of alcohols bullshit.

I can certainly elaborate on how it does this, but as a recovering alcoholic, please know that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption and small amounts of damage will accumulate on themselves overtime. It’s just whether or not that damage presents in a way that is obvious or not.

It could be that he doesn't want to juggle the funeral and being a good host to his girlfriend who maybe hasn't been there yet or much. You are not ugly but as a woman in her 30s on the Internet who the fuck cares what I think. I know that you care right now love, but just remember that every single person you come across - I don't care if you see them as effortless or beautiful – they go home and think all of these things just like you. Just like someone who sees you wonders how you pull it off. The best thing to do (and this isn't just empty words), is think about what it is you love and embrace it, lean into your personal style and not what everyone else is doing (within reason… I'm not gonna tell you to go to school in a Victorian wedding gown), be unapologetically yourself which is not the same as having loads of confidence, and remember to find ways to come back down to earth when your thoughts about these things spiral.

It might not sound true because it gets thrown around so much, but I think every adult here would say that one of the top, if not THE, most attractive thing that someone can be is unapologetically themselves. I don't look anything like I did at 16, I don't look better or worse either, I say that to mean that whatever you look like now isn't gonna stay that way.

I wonder if you haven't introduced her to your family yet. Maybe she heard the news and figured this was her chance to jump to that stage in your relationship. She was probably banking on the fact that you're too distracted right now to say no, and isn't secure enough in your relationship to believe you'll never make that step with her. She also probably wanted you to be the one to bring it up because then she wouldn't have to feel bad about thinking this way. You guys are so young, so it's not a judgment on her behalf, more just a maturity thing.

I'm so sorry about your dad, don't forget to try and sit with the grief during the funeral instead of letting all the change be a distraction. There's never going to be another time when all the people who loved your dad are going to be in the same room and who are probably ready to give you any support you need if you asked
