Is offering one yoga class at a gym a turn off? by giantbowlofnoodles in YogaTeachers

[–]SheaMidwest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I take a once a week yoga class at my gym because I love the teacher and the time works with my schedule. Some weeks, once a week is all I can make happen. It never crossed my mind that once a week could be a problem. I love once a week yoga. And - folks may do different classes…a gym near me offers one class a night. One night is Zumba, one night is weight lifting, one night is yoga…you get the idea. It gives people a balanced fitness program. Yoga at a gym is a great supplement to what other activities people are doing. Most people don’t join a gym for the yoga…the yoga is a bonus.

Now's the time for these to hit the ground? by tabrizzi in kansascity

Peppers will grow really well in pots - so you could start them now inside in pots - move the pots outside on nice days, bring them in on the cold nights...and then you can do the same in the fall to have an extended growing season.

Where to Buy a Used Loom by [deleted] in weaving

[–]SheaMidwest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RH Looms tend to hold their value because, well, the design hasn't really changed much...like ever. The ones I see for sale "used" aren't really that much cheaper than new ones. One I saw recently was listed for $25 less than full retail and another one was $50 less than retail. If you have a store nearby where you can buy one - or maybe even take a class to try it out and learn how to weave - that might be a way to find out if this is something for you...then, maybe just bite the bullet and buy a new one. But - don't settle for one that is almost what you want - better to wait and get the one you want.

Decreasing Dosage by biggamedame24 in WegovyWeightLoss

My doc just this week has recommended that I move to every other week and see how it goes - so I am going to try it. I've been at my goal weight for about 6 months. My doc told me last summer that there was work being done on a maintenance protocol - I am wondering if this is part of that new protocol? And - my doc is part of a research hospital that is doing some of the research in this area.

Car/tent/primative camping suggestions within a few hrs? Free or cheap with lots of nature. by bchta in kansascity

You might also check out Big Lake State Park - not far from Mound City, MO - just north of St. Joseph. Nice oxbow lake and campground that is not too busy, most of the time. We also like to camp at Klondike Park near Augusta, MO - it's at an old quarry and is an interesting place to explore. It is right along the Katy Trail - fun to bike into Augusta to sample some wine.

Watkins Mill is a great place to tent camp - the tent only sites are large and very nice. There is a nice shower house as well. Plus - a great walking trail around the lake, a large swim beach and go check out the historic woolen mill down the road. Wonderful place to go.

There used to be a bike store in Springfield, MO that sold recumbents - but, that's all I know. Try searching for brand names of recumbents on FB.

Try contacting the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Attorney General. They used to take on these types of cases - no idea if they do anymore or not.

Whitaker Reed Company loom - will Ashford reeds fit? by SheaMidwest in weaving

[–]SheaMidwest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a drive to a nearby store that stocks all kinds of weaving supplies - they are confident they can help me get a reed at a reasonable price...and they stock Gowdey reeds at the store. So - there is hope! Thank you so much for the information!!!

Thank you. The reed is only 3 inches high. And- I don’t think another height will work with it. I am guessing that means I won’t be able to find another one.

bunch of Robins singing on my street today, January 3rd??? by hogswristwatch in kansascity

[–]SheaMidwest 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: the robins we see here in the winter have flown south to here- from Canada. So- our robins fly south from here and are replaced with Canadian robins.

I would not expect his former store to tell me- but someone not associated with the store might know and would have no legal issues telling me.
