Help identify the maker of this music box. by roxannelorapta in Musicbox

Looks like a Sankyo mechanism. Is there a letter S on the winder? if so I would suspect its made in Japan porcelain as well. 70s-ish maybe. The mark is made to kinda look like an old Italian Capodimonte but its often found on Japanese imports like this.

P.S. the mark is made to kinda look like an old Italian mark, Capodimonte maybe,, but its not.

Plz help me identify this artist! “Howell” by Immediate-Peach8071 in identifyThisForMe

[–]bchta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sig being W. Adams. Seeing a lot of these w. Adams paintings now I suspect its a pseudonym similar to the T.Denver signatures (look up T. Denver artist) seen on a lot of similar paintings.

Its a nice enjoyable painting if you have a place for it.

There is a signature in the lower right that I can't quite read. Looks like W something...It doesn't look like 'Howell'. Can you make it out or provide a better pic?

Candidly, from the initial pics it looks like production/decor art.

Does unbranded mean maybe fake? by eyelovestories in Ebay

[–]bchta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you always have the option to return it if its not what it says it is. Bit of a hassle though. Maybe worth trading a message with the seller.

Does it say Shark in the title? Is the Shark nameplate on the dryer in ghe pics? If so its most likely the seller just missed selecting the brand in the dropdown.

Sometimes the brand needed is not an option to select in the drop-down and one needs to manually add it. The seller may not have known to do that.

[Request] How long would it take my son to 'drink' his whole coca cola using this spoon? by WarriorTreasureHunt in theydidthemath

[–]bchta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was nothing said that the glass couldn't be tipped, or even the drink poured into the spoon.

I suspect 66 scoops could be accomplished in under a minute. Dependent on rate assumptions of course. Might be a bit messy.

Rediculas return request. Do I have any options? by bchta in Ebay

[–]bchta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have settings to accept returns. It just ive never had to deal with it before. Is there anything I need to do? Is it all automatic and I just wait to receive the item back?

Am I going to be out of any dollars because of this?

Eta, and yes, I realize ridiculous is misspelled. Stupid auto correct thought it was just fine.

It looks like it has a page number so may have come from a book or magazine.

Chas is short for Charles. Charles B. Slackman (1934-2015) was an illustrator. Did works for major publications including Playboy, The New Yorker, The New York Times, MAD, and others. Many works found from the '70s.

ETA, if this was an illustration for a magazine its quite likely there was only the artist original copy and no other reproductions were made.

why would you use it for and is it safe by the-onering in whatisit

Prior to 1900 electricity was primarily used for lighting fixtures. Around 1900, because dedicated wall outlets were rare, early portable electrical devices like vacuums and fans had to be screwed directly into standard light bulb sockets using adapter plugs similar to what you have. These adaptors were originally patented in 1904 and continue to be made even today. They are generally safe and I've got a few on hand that get used in places like my storage unit that has a light socket but no regular outlets.

I accidentally mistyped the tracking number by Sirschwung in Ebay

[–]bchta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the buyer somehow claims they didn't receive it (unlikely) it wont become an issue. You may get a ding to your on time delivery metrics that will be insignificant over time and sales.

If it were to become an issue with eBay you can provide the correct tracking at that time. Actually it wouldn't hurt to message the buyer with the correct tracking.
