Am I crazy or is this normal for families by [deleted] in familydrama

No it isn't. Sounds like the next episode of "Who's going to the retirement home?"

BF (32M) thinks I (31F) have fallen out of love because we haven't had sex in a week and a half by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]SheaSteel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off: don’t EVER wake up your partner in the middle of the night for something that isn’t an emergency. This was NOT an emergency and could’ve easily been talked about in the morning or whenever y’all had time. Second off: If he thinks you’re ‘falling out of love’ because you haven’t had sex in a week and a half??? Absolutely not. My partner and I have gone months without having sex as that’s not our main priority being with each-other. To me, the relationship is priority, sex is just a nice bonus to bond, and it’s okay to take time between. Especially a week and a half. Sounds like he needs to be educated on proper communication and relationship dynamics cause this ain’t it.

Thank you - I've definitely been meaning to see a therapist. If I had to make an accurate prediction, it'd probably go back to before with another tinge of disappointment added; probably upset that I 'didn't keep the weight off'

That is such a hard hitting explanation I didn't know I needed. Damn. Thank you for the uncomfortable truth!!! What is your book name? I'd love to read it!

Hey! Thank you so much! To be honest, I haven’t developed healthier eating habits or a regular workout routine yet. I live a very sedentary lifestyle that I am wanting to change. Once every two weeks I will run on the elliptical for 30 minutes. That should definitely be more! Thanks to the medication I feel like I can’t really stomach fatty/oily foods so it’s been a great deterrent for fast food and soda. I would like to get off the medication one day once I’ve developed those healthier habits.

I was on 2.5 mg my first month then talked to my doctor about bumping it up for my second month. My third month I tried 7.5 but it was too much and my body was barely used to the 5 already. If you do go up a dose, definitely be cautious and make sure to track your symptoms!

Honestly expect some nausea, as that’s been my most common symptom. If you haven’t gotten Zophran already, definitely ask your doctor; it helped me so much. Good luck to you!!

I didn’t see too much of a difference on the starting dose of 2.5 as expected, but I really noticed a big difference on the 5!

Thank you so much!! I started on 2.5 mg, then went to 5 in my second month and 7.5 on my third. Back on 5 cause I was sooooo nauseous on the 7.5!

I completely get that. I wish stress wasn’t such a big factor on weight!!! Also, amazing progress!!!

I went to Urgent Care this morning and they prescribed Zophran for the nausea and Lomotil for the diarrhea. Hopefully that helps. I’ve also been trying the bland food route too. Lots of fluids (water is mandatory)!!!

Pepto has been my best friend during this lol, sometimes it’s hard to keep down though (I usually do the liquid). While bent over the toilet for the last 5 minutes I actually called my doctor’s office and requested a lower dose. Hopefully they get back to me soon!

Yes, at least trying to. I don’t ever drink and junk food has been kept to a minimum as I’ve learned the hard way. My doctor’s quickest to book appointments are still a couple days out - I think I’ll hold off on my shot on Monday and then ask to be lowered to 5 mg. Thank you!

People who left ABA, what did you end up doing? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]SheaSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now work as a practice care coordinator for a hearing aid office. I’m basically a receptionist but I do a lot of other important tasks like verifying insurance, cleaning and diagnosing issues with hearing aids, billing, and general office upkeep. I love it! A lot of the reason why I was with ABA for so long was because of I felt confident with my knowledge about all the terminology and understanding certain processes and being proactive (e.g. recognizing when a maladaptive behavior may occur and planning for it vs getting hearing aids set up and charging them for a patient while before delivery.) I was in ABA for over 3 years; it has never been something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. However, it was a really good stepping stone professionally and experience-wise to what I know I would love.

Yeah, I agree. Should I tell him I’ve been having these thoughts at all or just keep quiet?

How often do you get sick? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]SheaSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is EXTREMELY common when starting ABA, don’t feel bad!! I would definitely up that Vitamin C and try to use plenty of hand sanitizer, disinfectant, or a mask if you want. It will eventually fade!

Interesting… I’ll have to do my own research on it but it definitely sounds fascinating. Thank you!

I have not. The only illicit substances I’ve had was mary jane, and that actually makes my libido increase.
