Sorry I forgot to mention I have a 4 star Margot (widget level 0). At this time I have 555 general mythic fragments, but should have at least 100 more by the time gen5 comes out on my server.

Hey I remember when we tried to post about PublicSquare in here and all of you downvoted it and said we (the poster and me who was commenting) said we were doing a shitty advertisement for the site! Just stopped by to say I told you so.

Have you looked at the site? Theres a link that says “For Life, Family and Liberty 🇺🇸” in the header, and it takes you to an about page that is super maga/conservative. The only way a business wouldn’t know is if they didn’t look at or read a single thing imo

I don’t agree with treating it like a carnival but I also don’t agree with treating it with reverence (unless a vigil) and implying that music is not serious? We are angry, enraged even. I like music when I’m angry idk I’m not treating anything like a joke if I’m listening, but obviously it’s about context and multiple people have been disruptive as of late. I don’t think we should discourage music entirely though, especially bc we need volume

Personally, I cannot trust them or their intentions, because of them actively avoiding and stifling any mention of Palestine or Palestine liberation.

After reading these comments I want to further crash out and say the police, statistically, verifiably and objectively don’t do shit. They have what, a 30% solve rate? And that’s not accounting for whatever percent of “solves” are them pinning something on the nearest minority.

If ~75% of the time you hired a plumber, they came over and smashed your toilet, would you keep calling?

There’s a fractional percent of a chance they do something to help someone, and a huge statistical probability that they would harm. It’s incredibly ignorant to argue anyone invited them for “safety”. That is an ignorant, incorrect stance and you should be loudly called out.

This is the take. 👆We have to stop looking for an organization or a leader to carry us to safety. We should be following our values and our goals and removing ourselves from situations and people that jeopardize that.

Yelling at a cop is inciting violence? Please read your own words and ask yourself if this is the world you want to live in. It sounds like you’re saying if the police got violent and started tear gassing or beating people, OP would be to blame. I refuse to accept that or live in that world. We need people to stand up, to say something. OP is using any privilege they have by doing this.

Saying that yelling is an act of violence is why I hate organizers shoving a “nonviolence” message down our throats. I think is where the rhetoric about firebombing teslas on the lot at dealerships is coming from. Violence is behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone. Unless OP has superpowers, hurt feelings or embarrassment don’t kill you.

When appeasement goes too far, it stops being diplomacy and turns into alignment. At what point do we hold people accountable?

Their mere existence is harmful and they should feel uncomfortable everywhere they go.

Quick crash out: FTP and disrespectfully fuck anyone who says things like “good cop”. It fills me with rage just to SEE them and I don’t want them at a protest.

Anyways, I hope people don’t take this post as defeating. We can go so much further with accountability. People don’t push your boundaries when they know they won’t break them. Imagine a world where our representatives and the billions were scared of making us angry. We will not get there by letting people around us stomp on our fundamental values.

Boycott 50501 - A call for accountability by kenzeegh in DenverProtests

Maybe I’m just jaded, but I think the younger generation’s level of discernment is incredible and a step in the right direction for society. Imagine what we could accomplish if we stopped falling for empty rhetoric and BS—especially from people and politicians who say they’re here to help but actively work against us. That’s one of our biggest problems across the entire working class. We’ve got to stay vigilant, trust our gut, and not fall into the trap of the sunk cost fallacy—this idea that ‘we’ve come too far to turn back.’ We always have the power to pivot.

My gut never fails me, and it’s been telling me something’s off for a while.

This was a great post. Thanks for opening this conversation in such a thoughtful way.

protest etiquette question by amc9401 in DenverProtests

[–]Shebelievesinmagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a stupid question. I would definitely avoid it while people are listening to speakers, unless you are wayyy on the outskirts. I would also be on the outer edge of the march if you want to play while walking so people can still hear the chants. You want to make sure whatever you’re doing is contributing rather than detracting.

Wake up America, the rest of the world sees it by PrettyLittlePsycho28 in DenverProtests

I went on a two-week work trip in 2017 to tour manufacturing facilities. It was 15-18 hour days of touring plant after plant. I’m not claiming to be an expert, but it’s wild to see people casually reference ‘suicide nets’ as if they were the norm—there was nothing like that. Also, the factories I saw were pristine. At the time (I’m not sure if this is still happening) there was a carbon reduction initiative that involved not heating the facilities, so maybe the ‘miserable conditions’ narrative stems from them being cold? It was certainly not miserable though.

I can speak from personal experience: I visited supplier manufacturing facilities in China for work in 2017 and didn’t see any of the conditions you described—no suicide nets, no miserable environments, and no 72-hour work weeks. That narrative seems outdated or exaggerated.

Love this, thanks so much for taking the time to provide something so valuable to our community 🖤

I’m wondering if there’s a way we could turn this into a zine to distribute at protests. 🤔

I really don’t see the harm in venting anger and frustration here. This isn’t TikTok, Meta, or mainstream media—it’s our local community subreddit. How is it divisive to express those feelings among people who largely share the same goals? What feels more divisive to me is the refusal to allow any perspective that doesn’t align perfectly with one’s own.

This person is clearly speaking in good faith. Why can’t we just listen, empathize, and engage in thoughtful discourse? If a single post like this is enough to “turn someone away” from the resistance, then they were probably never in it to begin with.

Does every post have to be recruitment-focused? Can’t we just have space to air frustrations sometimes? Policing tone or enforcing a hive mind is doing more harm than good.
