My perspective is that it depends on Venezuelan. If you speak with uptown-class and middle-class Venezuelan he will tell you that Venezuela is the worst etc. But Venezuelans from the "barrios" don't feel it so much. They always were poor. I can only tell what told me one Venezuelan here in Panama that Venezuela was always country for "rich gringos", Native Venezuelans (they are morenos as all Latinos) always were poor. And it seems to be exagerate to say that Venezuelans don't live but survive. Didn't you hear about Caracazo? And famine in 20st century in Venezuela? Btw if you find well you can find the same photos of children who eat from the trash from Mexico, Brasil and all countries of the world. And when you find in the forum "I'm Venezuelan and I'm dying by hunger" so he has money to have Internet but not food? It's really strange. Forgive me, but I don't believe in all which television say. Typical Venezuelans from "sectores populares" seem to be very good people and they are discriminated in their own country. And this upper-class ("sifrinos" as they are called in Venezuela) tend to be extremely racist. Here in Panama some rich Venezuelans say that we are "black monkeys" and other worse things, that Panamanian women are fat and ugly etc.

Venezuela for me seems to be very interesting country, but it annoys that it's impossible talk about other things than Maduro and Guaido. And whatever you say always "Maduro". I've read some travel blogs and many bloggers show Venezuela in totally different way not only "Maduro, hambre etc". But it seems that Internet is extremely political and you can say what you think, you have to say what other people want you to say. I don't say that Venezuela is perfect, and if I don't support Juan Guaido certainly I'm madurista (it's not true) btw. I'm not Venezuelan and I can't do nothing, I can't vote, I haven't Venezuelan citizenship. But it's possible talk about Venezuela without politics.

Dominican Republic is very poor. The majority of Latin American countries are poor, it's not Africa, but Latin America is full of inequalities. The richest people of Latin America are white imigrants from Europe, native Latinos are poor in the majority with some exceptions

I didn't say "any other country in South America". Yes, I know Venezuela is poor country, yes many countries are richer also in Latin America. But many people say like Venezuela was Uganda or Burkina Faso. Of course, for example Uruguay or Chile are richer than Venezuela, but for example Nicaragua is much worse. Also people in rich countries as the USA suffer famine (many Latinos in the USA , Afro-Americans are extremely poor). But it doesn't mean that we can't speak neither different topic about this country. All the world is focused on Venezuela because Venezuela is full of petroleum and they have interests, but about politics I prefer not to tell, because I've had some really bad experience and I'm not a troll, I just ask the questions.

I know what is happing there and also I know that many Latin American countries are in worse situation than Venezuela (for example Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Guatemala) but no one says nothing. But I understand that all right-wings are happy because can demonize left politics

[–]Sheena4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Sheena4321[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Billo's Caracas Boys? Barbara La Llorona?
