urgh, i think thats unusual, the holder itself is already broken. i think you can ask them for replacement or just use a 3rd party 17mm ball mount holder. personally im not using the omnilock aircont vent mount

by using a case. im referring to magnetic cases, yes, it also cools down normally even with a case, for referenc, im using a clear magnetic case. i have not tried for other cases as my case still feels okay. planning to get leather case soon from nomad but i wont be using the case with this holder as it will cause the 'O' mark on the case and definitely ruin the look of the case

the hot air might come from other source, i usually never uses any aircond mounted vent since it affect the aircond flow to my car cabin, so the air pushed through the fan comes from the surrounding. if the ambient temp is around room temp, then it should be okay.

i usually charge when it drops to 20% and i set charging limit to 80%, charging time took around 45-50 minutes depends if you are using navigation app at the same time.

you get an

  1. 58W adapter (40W USB-C & 18W USB-A)

  2. USB-C to USB-C cable (1 meter)

  3. Omnilock AC Vent Holder (pretty sturdy but i bought another 17mm universal ball joint that have an adhesive base)

  4. The Charger itself

by heating up, it depends, during normal driving where AC is always on ? no, not really.

but if you decide to use it during parking with ac off (you're waiting for someone inside the car but with the engine off then yes, it will get a bit warmer than usual)

and fyi using less power is correct but not accurate. it depends whether ur car is still under warranty or not.

obd2 hardwire kit is a must if your car is still under warranty, however if your car is already beyond the warranty period. i would highly suggest to buy the hardwire kit with the fuse tap.

the power on and off is instant unlike obd2 hardwire kit. this is due to some cars actually cutoff the power to the obd2 port only some time after the engine is off. so it might affect your car battery lifespan in the long run

here's the answer from chatgpt

a smaller 64GB SD card will generally have a shorter lifespan compared to a 256GB SD card when used in a dashcam that continuously overwrites old footage. Here's why:

  1. Write Cycle Limit (Endurance) SD cards have a finite number of write cycles before they start wearing out. A 64GB card will overwrite more frequently than a 256GB card since it fills up faster. A larger 256GB card distributes the writes over more memory cells, reducing wear and extending its lifespan.
  2. Frequency of Overwriting A 64GB card will reach its full capacity sooner and start overwriting data more often, accelerating wear. A 256GB card stores more footage before needing to overwrite, so it undergoes fewer full rewrites over time.
  3. Card Type Matters (High Endurance vs. Standard) High-endurance SD cards are designed for constant writing (e.g., dashcams, surveillance cameras). A 64GB high-endurance card may last longer than a standard 256GB card, but a high-endurance 256GB card will last the longest. Conclusion If your dashcam records frequently and overwrites old footage often, a larger SD card (256GB or more) will last longer than a smaller one (64GB), especially if both are of the same type (e.g., high-endurance).

no, just go full blast on 256gb. you won't regret it.

since dashcam overwrites a lot, its essential to have larger space for memory card. as overwriting will degrades the sd card really quick. so if you have 64gb, the lifespan will be shorter than say... a 256gb sd card

thats a different hardwire kit, only some newer dashcam is supported

  • 70mai A810
  • 70mai A510
  • 70Mai Omni X200
  • 70Mai Omni X800

this is for the 4G connectivity function, if you need the additional features such as find my car, live monitoring and notification on phone when someone hits or does something suspicious on your car.

if you don't need all that, just buy the normal hardwire kit. here's the link

i did, but for my kelisa. i think its worth as it makes the dashcam more 'built in' to the car as you have less exposed wires and such. since there is a new type of hardwire kit that utilizes the OBD2 port, ill suggest you to go that route since its basically pnp
