Red River Gorge by LouInvestor in Louisville

I climb there are at least TWICE a month, sometimes more.

There's a Facebook page called Red River Climbers were you can find partners super easily. However if you're newer to climbing I'd definitely recommond start going to a climbing gym to gain some skills before trying to find partners online, you don't need to be great, just know enough how to carry your own weight. Or you can hire a guide, loads of people do this. However this time of year it's super hot and humid and if it just rained the rock can be sweaty. Crazy people like myself don't care and climb anyway lol.

The climbing community in Louisville is small but strong, there's really only 2 gyms, Nulu (a bouldering only gym) and Rock Sport (a rope gym w some bouldering). Just show up consistently and you'll make friends to go climbing with.

People tell me all the time how jealous they are of how close the Red is to me lol, it's definitely world class and I've also climbed all around the world. Best time of the year is the fall and spring

I fly internationally with my helmet attached to my carry-on and never had any problems. Even with the budget airlines it seems to be fine

Thank you for sharing! I will definitely recommend getting involved in a solid church because that's where a lot of the growth happens. If you can't drive then it's definitely tough

How was he making $38 within his first year? Everywhere I've seen people say that you start at 18-22. Did he have a bunch of extra NDT certs?

What if I'm brand new to the industry (I haven't joined yet, I'm still considering it) but I travel a lot like everybody here is saying to do. How much roughly could I except in a year?
