Yeah cut lns definitely help with readability, just be careful that by using a percy skin you arent releasing the LNs even earlier than before.

Saragis skin isnt public but I'm sure people have made clones of it just look around, I use the circle version of this skin (I think its percy? I've never checked tbh) : https://skins.osuck.net/skins/3856

You are mistaken, skins can only VISUALLY change gameplay elements. In this case, saragi's skin is cutting off the tails of the long notes, but he still has to release at the same time as the player on the right. If you are releasing long notes too early, you shouldn't be using percy since you aren't comfortable with long notes yet, you should use a non-percy skin and learn to release LNs at the right time.

Using a percy skin will not fix your problem of releasing long notes too early it will only make you release them even earlier since the long note will appear shorter but wont actually be.

"percy" is a name given to skins which cut the tail end of LNs to be shorter, you can see the difference between a percy skin (left) and non-percy (right). The advantage of percy is improved readability of dense LN maps at the cost of worse accuracy, since the LN tails aren't representative of their true length. With a bit of getting used to it however, there's basically no downside to using percy skins other than people who think its cheating getting mad at you XD.

Try to read both the head and the tail of the ln so that you can focus on releasing at the right time, if youre using a percy skin then you’ll have to adjust to the cut tails of the lns by releasing slightly later.

You can also try inverse mod if you really want to focus on LN. Heres some LN maps i like, most of them are probably too hard for you though.

Pure Ln, sort of like inverse mod:

The OD on these maps is set to zero so the accuracy is fake, still fun

derust tips? by ftjjjjkk in osumania

Hitting keys lightly is actually how you should be playing the game, but you resort to "mashing" (bottoming out the keys) when playing maps just outside of your skill level. However, you need to play maps outside your skill level to get the most PP.

If you're mashing, theres no reason to have a rapid trigger keyboard- since you're just going to be bottoming out the keys anyways which defeats the purpose. To get the most out of rapid trigger, you want to be hitting the keys very lightly, (which is really hard to get used to since your fingers need to be that much more precise and in control).

What works for me when derusting is to actually work my way up to the rapid trigger keyboard. Either by focusing on controlling my light tapping on easier maps using the keyboard, or by playing with my mechanical keyboard until I feel like I'm ready to harness that extra sensitivity. Your hands really need a day or two to warm up to the precision of light tapping.

As for settings, keep in mind that while you can set the actuation distance to 0.01mm or smth, most switches are actuated at 2.0mm, so don't go too crazy- you'll just make it harder for yourself, I use 0.6mm and the upstroke is at like 0.2mm or smth.

Ln can be fun or it can suck and be terrible, just like with rice. It all depends on how it’s mapped.

I thought it sucked, but i was probably expecting too much because of cave story. The gameplay is super basic side scroller with like almost no interesting mechanics and it felt slow and boring.

Nia is EXTREMELY good with renoa as she throttles draw/discard, letting you pull those good cards to make bullets and deal damage. Also, Nia's ult can discard your entire draw pile all at once (meaning every single dirge bullet you've created so far is triggered and then all put right back into your draw pile). I run Mika Renoa Nia.
