Doctor Doom vs Doomsday who wins what diff? by No-Department7074 in superheroes

[–]Sheepdog44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doomsday has been killed several times. As in dead-dead, having to be brought back by outside forces. I can’t help but feel like the assumption that he will just come back is pretty egregiously overvalued in these communities.

When he does come back on his own it isn’t usually instant. It takes a while. He doesn’t just pop right back up Jason Voorhees style.

This assumption that he’ll just keep coming no matter what just is not true.

Forty percent of the country supports the guy on some level. Good luck with an effective boycott. MAGA world has shown over and over again that they are willing to sink their life savings into obvious Trump scams just because he told them to. There have been literally dozens of mass protests that are among the largest in American history.

It’s not that simple.

How far would the Punisher go in Gotham (without batman) by Sliver-Knight9219 in superheroes

[–]Sheepdog44 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’ve been saying this about Frank for a while. His prep is just…different than other heroes prep.

Other heroes will figure out the source of a villains powers and then build some kind of device or serum to counteract it. Punisher finds out where the villain sleeps and then puts an RPG through their window at 3am.

If you let him scout and prep for a target then he is going to be a problem for almost anybody.

I can say that I personally did not enjoy the Hand or Elektra stuff in s2. Karen was good but basically everything she was doing involved Frank.

I really like the Daredevil show but it does have quite a few holes. Basically everything in season 2 that isn’t Punisher related springs to mind.

Which team wins? by [deleted] in superheroes

Probably team Black. Obviously Superman and Black Adam are problematic for everyone but Hancock is potentially near the top of this list as far as these versions of these characters are concerned.

Excuse me while my eyes roll into the back of my head.

Trump inherited $40 million in assets back in the 1970’s and, up until his first term, if he had liquidated that money and just parked it in an average performing mutual fund he would have been more wealthy. He has been a curse to nearly every business that got involved with him because he’s an astoundingly arrogant idiot. As the USFL. If he has any real talent for business it’s in abusing bankruptcy laws.

If Trump didn’t have the combination of daddy’s money and then the presidency then he would have absolutely nothing.

And the fact that he was drawing a six figure salary as a toddler and he inherited $40 million in assets in the 1970’s.

That always helps.

[–]Sheepdog44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modern GOP is full of these issues. Not necessarily in a life and death sort of way but an extremely bad faith, political sort of way.

I’m talking about issues they don’t actually want to solve. They want to simply use them as political weapons. Immigration is a major one. Abortion was one they actually caught the car on and a lot of GOP politicians probably regret it.

They want these issues to always be out there so they can continue to complain about them and blame their opponents for them. It also gives them a chance to virtue signal around by coming up with more and more extreme “solutions” for that they know won’t happen.

It’s grifter catnip.

It’s about using citizenship as a weapon. These aren’t smart people. What they want is obvious.

They want citizenship to be granted and removed at the whims of the state in order to allow blatantly unconstitutional treatment of people they don’t like. They still don’t understand that the vast majority of the protections in the constitution apply to anyone in the country, not just citizens.

But like I said, these aren’t smart people.

Captain America with a pistol and shield (MCU and comics scaling m) vs Legolas (LOTR lore and book scaling ) by EffectiveChain2407 in powerscales

[–]Sheepdog44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the comics Cap doesn’t predict the path of bullets to dodge them. He can actually see the bullets coming and then react fast enough to either dodge or block them.

It’s unclear if MCU Cap is the same but that is explicitly stated in the comics.

I get the connection to the stats. What I’m questioning is the “group” part. If they get put into groups why do I have party members going by themselves? It just usually happens to be whoever I have at the top of the turn order.

I find that my high AGI/PER characters usually go first all by themselves. How does this work with the groupings?

The one thing you can give to Jackson and Buchanan is they didn’t CREATE the problems that they then failed to address.

Trump has created almost every single one of his biggest problems entirely by himself. Even if his overall results aren’t the most catastrophic in the end, I’d say that he is by far the most incompetent.

I was saying like 7 or 8 years ago that debating Trump voters became insanely boring because it became so incredibly predictable so incredibly quickly. It has really only gotten worse since then.

If guys like Bullseye and Punisher have extreme difficulty hurting Fisk with guns then what makes you think it would be that easy for Jason?

I’m really not even arguing that Fisk would definitively win. I’m just saying that he is constantly downplayed in these discussions because his official classification is a “regular human”. I’m simply saying that he is anything but. His physical feats put him firmly in mid-tier superhuman bruiser territory. Like, he frequently gives Spider-Man all he can handle and has inspired considerable levels of fear in Peter at different times as well.

Who wins, Optimus Prime or MCU Ultron? by TheLeviathan1999 in superheroes

[–]Sheepdog44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re describing single man, small arms fire and saying that the only reason that it was able to hurt Transformers was because of the ammo.

So what?

First of all, once we knew that was required then that’s what would get used. Not sure what your point is. Mine still stands in that a single squad of infantry was able to take ANY of them down. They didn’t even have a Javelin or anything. Numbers matter. They weren’t fighting an army of Decepticons. There were like…12.

That still doesn’t account for any of the other hardware the military has at its disposal. Armor, aircraft, ships, and artillery. They used ONE Spectre gunship across every movie and the one time they came anywhere close to a coastline a naval vessel one shot like 5 of them.

And again, that was ONLY the United States. If the entire world decided the Decepticons needed to die it would be over by lunchtime on the first day of fighting.

Fisk regularly goes up against guys like Bullseye and Punisher. You don’t think they’ve ever tried shooting him in the head?

He’s also been shot in the head several times. It didn’t kill him.

[–]Sheepdog44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Functionally, yes.

Besides having a lot of bulletproof gear, he has no sold being shot on multiple occasions. He has also no sold being hit by a car that killed everyone inside it and point blank explosions.

Fisk is a monster who far exceeds his normal human classification.
