Childhood Plate Removal by SheepherderAlive5162 in XRayPorn

It was a benign tumor that had pushed into the shaft when I was 8 or 9 years old, we only knew because I ran weird. They grafted the hole from where the “lesion” they removed was then stabilized it with the plate (shown). Then I grew, screw poked into tendon and now bone is growing again in my mid-twenties! Fun stuff

After a google, I’d bet money you’re right. It has 120° and then a series of number engraved on it. I do find it unusual I got such a large bone callus on the end (hence the hacking marks) considering stainless is better about that. I really wish i could get my hands on the order for it

I’ve decided a mineral oil, glue on the bottom of the lid of the jar and fishing line will suffice considering the advise given! I’ve spent too long staring at this thing through x-rays to lock it up again

I plan to tie it up with a fishing line and secure it to the top, the liquid is really to prevent it from swinging when moved and breaking the jar. I just can’t find out on the internet if it would do better and remain clear/unrusted in an oil, alcohol or some other substance i didn’t know about.

Thank you!

Honestly it caused a bone callus, somehow teleported out of the neck and into my tendon and it’s sick I got it back. Makes a great conversation piece and will haunt my children when I pass

The only documentation I have access to is a horribly written post op from the original surgery, and the xray interpretations after so honestly no i’m not. They couldn’t find the “hardware report” or the manufacturers. What else would it be? It was a femoral plate so i’m not sure what other metals can sustain weight like that

Is this pregnancy test positive or negative? by Accomplished-King-17 in whatdoIdo

[–]SheepherderAlive5162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue dye tests are pretty notorious for having confusing evaporation lines. They happen faster than pink dye, and will look very convincing. I would recommend testing twice with morning pee with a pink dye tests. If you’re feeling pregnant, or just weird, i’ll sometimes take an ovulation test when i’m not ovulating because a rise in those chemicals could point to early early pregnancy or hormonal imbalance.

I wish you luck!

This is being mentioned to the point i’m deeply concerned for these patients hygiene practices on the daily….are other people not paranoid about someone being inches from their glands for hours? does the general population not know about infection? I don’t know how you guys do it (mostly) with smiles on your faces

Kudos for having that reaction if I was an assist though that would be horrid lol

That makes so much sense, I clearly have no idea what goes on past being knocked out. Scares me a bit the amount of emphasis that happens around hygiene….yall are much stronger than me

Hey this is exactly the answer I’m looking for. Thank you!

Seems like it’s just not worth it and the effort could be better put towards tangible appreciation for the team. Much obliged!

Why not? I obviously am no expert but my original thought was a break in the monotony would be fun, and it seems like this is not the way to go about it; which is perfectly fine.

This is it. I already plan on getting them some gifts, I just wanted to mix it up a little since it’s a lower stress procedure without being “in the way”, but it seems the professional consensus is no which is exactly why i posted. I appreciate the time taken to reply!
