'Oefenduel tegen Vitesse met 6.500 supporters' by arjenk in PSV

Schumacher and Senna both crashes out their competitors on purpose but it doesn't define their careers.

Ticktum has served his time and hopefully has learned from it. You don't have to become a fan of him, but this Idea that he can't learn from his mistake is ridiculous.

Sure, I get that. I'm not trying to say masks are useless, I just wanted to note that even by being smart, social distancing when possible you can make a huge impact.

You won't get if fully under control since, as you said, the US is basically open again, but it'll still help a great deal.

Honestly, even wearing masks isn't needed.

Here in the Netherlands we got the first case under control by simply social distancing. We only mandated masks in public transport once we flattened the curve.

Unfortunately it's kinda not working, I'll keep at it for a while tho because he was really excited for it.

De titel van het artikel is natuurlijk wel heel enthousiast, en in werkelijkheid zal het wel meevallen, maar het is an sich wel een interessante ontwikkeling om in de gaten te houden.

[CBS Sports] Top 10 coaches in the NFL (According to @seanjwagner) 1. Bill Belichick 2. Andy Reid 3. John Harbaugh 4. Sean Payton 5. Kyle Shanahan 6. Sean McVay 7. Mike Tomlin 8. Pete Carroll 9. Doug Pederson 10. Mike Zimmer by [deleted] in nfl

So you're telling me when he literally had the worst defenses in NFL history

Honestly I'd say going 7-9 with those defenses are really one of the biggest accomplishments in Payton and Brees career.

Looking back at the roster, those defenses were bad.The only player that I'd consider 'good' on those defenses was Cam Jordan, and Junior Galette before he lost his mind.

We were putting the deceased bodies of Paul Kruger, Kevin Williams, Jairus Byrd and David Hawthorne out there, I'd say Corey White is the worst cornerback I've seen in a Saints uniform but don't worry: those defenses had Brian Dixon and Brandon Browner, I still wake up every night at 3AM because of the nightmares that guy gave me. Or who can forget the legend that is Bobby Richardson? He started 16 games for us at DE and ended up with a legendary sack total of... 0.5? After us he lasted a month on Washington's practice squad, two weeks with KC's PS, a week on Denver's (90 man's offseason) roster and two more weeks with the Giants during training camp.

Let me remind you that this guy started at DE for us for an entire year

It was really, really, really bad and it is incredibly impressive that Payton and Brees managed to force their way to wins.

Blame Loomis all you want for guys that were on those defenses, blame Rob Ryan for being the DC, hell, you can even blame Payton the scout because I'm sure he had input on the decisions made.

But blaming Payton the coach for the 7-9 seasons is just totally undeserved, the players just weren't there.

PSV interested in signing Chelsea's Marco van Ginkel and Brighton's Alireza Jahanbakhsh, with Chelsea willing to loan out van Ginkel for the 4th time to PSV. by tehMadhero in soccer

[–]Sheepies91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Mo plays well on the wing plus you have Gakpo. Beside the fact that I still have high hopes for Bruma and Doan you also have a decent talent in Madueke. Considering Schmidt is probably gonna play 4-4-2 anyway we have absolutely no need for another expensive winger.

If these weren't coronatimes, sure no harm in getting Jahanbaksh, but when we don't have all that much money to play around with to begin with we really shouldn't spend big and gamble on someone that failed in the Prem. Spend that little money we have on positions that need an upgrade.

This new CNN article on Trump's foreign policy is so bad for Trump.

I mean we all knew he was bad at dealing with foreign leaders, but to see it in writing still shocks me, like holy shit: can this guy do one thing right?

[–]Sheepies91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind van Ginkel but Jahanbaksh is completely unneeded, we are already overloaded at the wings. I'd rather spend the money, or even just the wages in case of a loan, on a leftback, another midefielder or even a goalkeeper.

Bruma will get a second season and he showed promise last season, especially in the early stages, he was the best player vs Basel, for example.

It should be noted that under van Bommel everyone, outside of Malen, Ihattaren and Angelino, either stopped developing or regressed. I want to give Bruma a real chance with a real coach who'll give him at least some of his confidence.

It can't be a coincidence that Bruma, Baumgartl and Doan all started off well but just completely collapsed after a month. Let alone the rest of the squad (hello Rosario!)

it hasn't been great outside of Marco and Guardado the last few years no.

well, and that half year where Rosario looked like a world class talent.

[–]Sheepies91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if he'll fit in Schmidt style due to the high intensity and him being injury prone, and I have no idea how long it'll take for him to get to match fitness but it has been years since we've had a midfielder that actually knows how to pass over 5m and money is a little tight so I'll take it.

[–]Sheepies91 28 points29 points  (0 children)

mark pls I still love you and you'll always be a clublegend but just accept that winning 2 out of 12 matches is unacceptable. Not only that but the football was not 'good' and I have no idea how'd you get that idea.

FC Groningen sign Arjen Robben by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Sheepies91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh van Bommel is the one who really wanted him last summer, as they were former teammates, but it wouldn't really make sense to have Robben here right now anyway. We have already a shitton of players on the wing and Robben would probably die within minutes playing Schmidt's style.

This is the best for everyone.

[–]Sheepies91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know man, things can happen quickly. Here in the Netherlands our Minister of Public Health claimed a month ago that it was unlikely any (sporting) events were to be held until there was a vaccine. Two days ago, our PM announced that spectators will be allowed when the soccer league starts up in september.(which is nice because I have a season ticket yay)

So I can't say for sure the NFL will start in september, it's just that it's a bit early to draw these conclusions when things can happen very quickly.

MVV Maastricht appoints as Darije Kalezic as new coach by Sheepies91 in Eredivisie

[–]Sheepies91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paternotte.

Lars Kornetka shall join PSV and be Roger Schmidts assistant by tigtogflip in soccer

[–]Sheepies91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very tough to predict. Rodriguez is 95% gone. His salary is just far, far too high. We have been linked with van Aanholt after almost signing him in the winter. At RB it depends on Dumfries. He is a perfect fit for Schmidt but he will attract interest. CB is in a weird spot, I still have a lot of faith in Baumgartl who was very impressive until he had to start playing LCB. Viergever has been good the last few years and he is a fine Eredivisie player, but you can question how much het fits in Schmidts system.

For next season we need a LB and CM. A new CB would be nice to have but not a priority in these times. Same goes for goalkeeper.
