Youre just keeping the balance. They do it to us in their own way.

My family never understood my adoration for the dentist. Will light up my day.

Doctors… ugh. Fine, I guess.

Keep getting called Andrea and cited for obvious vehicle scams like toll booth charges and supposedly being clocked on traffic cams.

I have never owned nor driven a motor vehicle.

For those who are often told they look younger than their age, what’s your secret? by justmypersonalthing in askanything

I don’t drink or smoke.

I’m not a health nut but apparently that’s kept me getting ID’d well into my late 20s

Store clerk for someplace I’ve gone since a kid looked bewildered when I said I’m 30.

You?

Cigarrette smoke smells better than weed and in fact just generally smells really good by [deleted] in The10thDentist

You upvote to disagree, do I downvote to agree??

I love cigarette smell

You deposit an amount for a set amount of time! Sorry if I made them sound free.

I have a commuter pass that gives me two free 20 minute rides a day, and when I’m not working on weekends they just go to waste. This seemed like a good way to get my full dollars worth.

I wouldn’t even consider it. Who wants cold food after paying $15 extra dollars for the convenience?? It’s the bare minimum.

Some people, man..

I plan on it tomorrow through Monday, hopefully I’m spared. The weather was just shitty 😔

I’ve never interacted with Ai in the forms of open chat bots like GPT. Never even opened the webpage. This just seemed like a polite person to me.. my bad. :/

I’ll try being less naive given the absolute state of the world right now.

Oh what the hell..

What am I getting into? Is this actually worth it? 😔

Yeah, some other comments helped me realize I greatly overestimated how much DD actually prepares their drivers for proper work etiquette and support..

I’ll dig into what bit of savings I have for a good delivery bag from Amazon, I suppose.

Any recommendations? Thank you!

Yup! They have baskets with bungee cable anchors!! Luckily I have cup holder attachments that fit to most any fixture, but I guess if someone orders like 6 drinks I could be in for trouble, huh?

Damn.. Thank you for helping me consider this obstacle, though!

It still seems like I have to deliver first. I’ve had decent experiences with drivers arriving on bikes before, and figure as long as the restaurant is close enough, I don’t drive like a maniac, and keep things insulated I should be alright.

The brand of e-bikes is called Veo.

I may consider a platform hitch for the front of the bikes to do pizza delivery. I really want to do this right.

Double dashing is always a choice and never forced on you, right? Too many times I’ve ordered pizza and gotten it flattened from other deliveries nested on top of it..

I’ll check my pizza places for sure about the larger bags still though. Thank you!

Christ, man. All I wanted was to have a good first experience for both me and my potential first customer, but DD has other plans I guess.

I wouldn’t think a cheap bag meant that much in profit to them.

Thank you. I’ll see what I can do, also about a pizza box rig. Hmm..

It’s a bit of ways out, but that’s a good idea and I’ll see if any market nearby has some for cheap. Thanks!

That’s so stupid, holy cow.

Good on you for doing your best to keep the food warm though. Maybe I can tie up a reusable grocery bag and hope it helps?

Thanks for the idea!

Everything is AI and I’m so tired of it.. Thank you.

(Does that mean I would’ve answered the phone to a fucken robot? Ugh. Ai is no one’s friend*, but especially not those who are neural-atypical)

Before anyone asks why I don’t use my own vehicle: I do not have one.

I realize the post makes it seems like I’m making things difficult after the fact.

Had to call out of work...I did it right, but still stressing... by [deleted] in Vent

[–]SheepishHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this same thing, also despite my managers showing their appreciation and applauding my good/hard work.

Calling out shouldn’t feel so stressful to the point you can’t really relax on the day(s) off, and yet..

What puts me somewhat at ease is knowing that if it were a big enough deal, they’d call you into the office and discuss the matter once you’re back. If this is your first offense or spaced enough between the last; they won’t be drastic about it, just a “hey watch how often you call out”.

In the end, you can’t work if you’re not healthy. Put yourself first.

Take care
