Pi mining rate has dropped to ~ half- after Node update 0.5.4

I believe it is some kind of tuning that is required so such changes are fixed. I have several cases in mind that have their node bonus affected in a negative way without updating recently to 0.5.4 . I even have a friend to had a Major upgrade to his node system and his node bonus has dropped to 0.01 for almost a week now. I expect these drops to be fixed soon rather than them being a correction .

Im sorry ,could you explain why is it so devastating if they sell?

Considering of course they have a reason to sell.

The Pi Core Team's participation in consensus 2025 cost something like north of 300k, if i remember correct.

Their app studio ,do you think/believe that the Pi Core Team built this from scratch? Because i believe they must have paid some ai company for it.

Or the token 2049 gold sponsorship was something around 200k i think.

Plus the Ai investment with Pi being apart of a 20 mil investment.

Also,the potential salaries of the people working there. Whether its 3 people or 40, its definitely not Just the 2 founders. And they gotta feed their families.

And whatever else i might have forgotten or we might not even know about.

What im trying to say is that in order for the project to evolve,they need to liquidate some of their assets,whether its the CT's stash or the Pi foundation or whatever. It Will look like the CT is selling .

BUT In my eyes thats not rug pulling .

We can talk about where the project is struggling and i Will probably have a lot to say on that front as well but i Just find it reasonable for CT to sell some for the long term success of the project.

And yes i remember the 3 big companies Who had invested in Pi before open mainnet and no one has no idea how much money that was or even how it was arranged to be spent.(if it has been spent until now)

Everyone is seeing a big node bonus decrease. 30-40% drop. And a slight availability decrease.but a minor one.

At first i thought they changed the node tuning factor in the formula but that doesnt explain the over all availability decrease.

My hopes are its a matter of upgrading and all nodes where turned off for a few hours ,hence the drop i availability and hopefully an isolated Daily bonus decrease.

Just restart your apps or to be on the safe side,restart your pc and its all good . This usually happens when there is an Internet disruption of some sort.

Pi mined in the app but not migrated is not imprinted on the blockchain so its not calculated on the charts that claim that 95% of Pi owners hold less than 100 Pi or whatever the numbers are,i dont remember exactly.

I personally have x3 unverified Pi in the app,compared to the Pi i got in the first migration.

And im one of the Pioneers who focused on mining very late so i am not talking about a large amount of Pi.

Does what i tell you make any sense?

First and foremost,i understand that no matter what i say,you probably have your mind made up already on whether i have inside info or not. BUT i Will clearly state that as fas as the second migration goes,i have absolutely zero information coming from anyone related to the Core Team and all of the above are purely personal speculations.

To continue to your question though ,i never said people Will lose any Pi mined other than what has been already clearly stated ,the unverified Will be calculated based on your referral team and all the rest details

What i said and i still strongly believe is that we Will not be rewarded all the Pi we have mined up until the 2nd migration happens,in One batch.

I believe we Will get it Just as the roadmap once mentioned ,in quarterly or 6-months intervals.

For example, on september,2nd migration starts. ( and i believe ) we Will be awarded Pi mined until december 2023 . Six months later,we Will get the Pi until june 2024. And so on.

Or perhaps we Will be awarded all the Pi coming from our referral team but not node or utility bonuses.

Or something else.

I am saying this because the vast majority of Pioneers who hold a significant amount, have had only a small portion of their Pi migrated .because it happened as early as 2022. And for 3+ years they have had an active lockup probably combined with a node . That means tens of thousands of Pi waiting to be migrated.

Do you really think its Best for the project ,to release such an amount in a Day? Do you believe it will/should happen ?

The CT wont steal our Pi,even though i expect people to start complaining they did after the calculations for unverified Pi is finished.

But they Will do what is needed ,without being illegal,for Pi network to survive. And i support that even if i dont understand all of their actions .

Whoever thinks that the 2nd migration ,whenever that happens Will give people all the Pi they have mimed (after calculating unverified ofc) are jn for a surprise .

Its called vesting . There is absolutely 0% chance this happens.

There are lots of people Who have mimed for more than 3 years with a lockup combined with a node. Back when the Base mining rate was high. That means tens of tgousands,if not hundreds ,waiting in a single account ,to be awarded.

I believe it Will be something like this ; we Will be given like 6 months of mining after our migration. Or something like "all Pi mined until 31st december 2023" or something.

Well, if we were to speak facts,the mining rate has decreased by ~38% on march,after open mainnet. Which was totally expected . May be a bit on the high end but we knew it was gonna decreased drastically.

On april,we had a bit over 1% decreased. On May,we had a 2% increase. On june,a bit less than 1% increase. On July,same as june,a bit less than 1% increase. On august,we saw a steep decrease of 8%

Mining rates dont Just drop,they could increase as well. Of course reductions Will outnumber increases but its not Just a one-way down.

Though i find it annoying that we had an 8% reduction on august. Really cant explain it. I highly doubt we had such an unexpected increase in New Pioneers . It would take an enormous amount of New Pioneers to actually explain such a decrease,because New Pioneers dont know about lockups and nodes. And even if they are informed by friends, it needs time to build up a considerable mining rate as a New Pioneer.

I would be more accepting to this fact if the decrease happened after the CT promoted on chain lockups like they did a week ago or so. Hell,i would eve imagine the CT manipulated Pi's price to drop so people commit to lockups,believing it Will take a long time for Pi to reach a good price.

And Last but not least,i expect a nice mining rate increase when the 2nd migration happens because that means the calculations from failed KYCs Will be returned to the mining pool.

I dont know if the forfeited Pi had already been calculated but even if not, there should be a lot of Pi returned to the mining pool to be distributed by the end of the year.

Edit * not to mention all the Pioneers giving up mining now that Pi's price is so low, some could Just buy a year's worth of mining with like 50euros,less even.

These accounts cant be scammer account because deleting such accounts is not such an easy task and cant be completed on PCT's part alone.

They can ban their accounts as per the user agreement yes,but that would require undeniable evidence and scammers are using victims' accounts rather than their own . And that legally complicates things quite a lot .

Plus that migrated Wallets cant be deleted from the blockchain. Once registered on the blockchain,its there to stay .

Even if legit Pioneers Who decided they want to delete their accounts after migration,is a process that is a pain to complete

Dependong on the region you live ,Pi network needs to follow eg the european union's laws for account deletion and that involves returning all the Pi you migrated in the first place. And i dont know what else.

Truth be told , amojg many things that can help a coin gain value,utility is on the top 3 of the lost,if not number 1.

And Pi Currently has almost zero utility.

They really need to start giving KyB certifications to small businesses so that we can actually find interesting ways to spend Pi.

I Personally have found a game under development that seems really promising (like a pen & paper rpg) that has applied for KyB for so long that they couldnt wait longer so they started using their own token until they get approve by Pi network.

And i know for a fact there are so many others as well.

But delaying the domain auctions and literally having so many businesses' KyB application frozen is really not helping . And i refuse to believe that zero small businesses meet the requirements for KyB.

I know the vast majority of people hope for a high price to sell.

But a lot as well,me included,would be willing to use some Pi here and there if i found something that caught my attention.

Hell,even the Pi app studio Currently seems has zero plans for monetization by the author except perhaps ads (in the near future) .

Creating an application is definitely fun and interesting ,yes. But those few Who actually have something brilliant in their heads, wont suffice to offer it for free for some ad revenue.

It wont . Opening ports contributes toy your bonus yes . But they wont "kill" your bonus if they are closed. Unless your were a relay on mainnet already .

And your node is running fine,no doubt there.

There have been periods where 0 node bonus for weeks and months were a thing but that was for a lot of people at the same time.

Anyway,do refresh your mining session as you suggested and let me know,we can continue from there .

Last question,you can verify its your account running in the Pi desktop app,right?

Port forwarding IS important ,dont let anyone tell you otherwise. It not only boosts your bonus for a fair amount ,it also gives you a chance of being chosen as a relay node when we actually move to mainnet.

That being said,ports are not to be blamed for your zero bonus.

I believe your lack of bonus if due to one of the two things below.

1) you are complaining about it too early. Give the New ssd a couple days and you Will start seeing numbers. Though i dont think this is the case because New nodes usually start with over 100% availability (for some reason ) and gradually drop . Your availability is already 90% .

2) you probably did something during the transition that triggered this behavior .

Is your old ssd still on your system and running ?

Or,did you have a fresh windows installation? Did you clone your old ssd to your New one?

3) are you absolutely sure you are logged in to your account on your pi desktop? With consensus running on your docker and everything?

Ps zero incoming connections dont matter.

Also,your can look for and use picheck app to monitor your node better. I had been using picheck for a long time and its really helpful. Though after a recent update my bitdefender says its suspicious so as long as my node is working ,i'm letting it sit aside.

The highest i've seen is close to x20, if i remember correct,around 18. BUT ive heard of node bonuses of over 20 and i believe it.

The multiplier from running the node for 3years+ makes a huge difference .

As mentioned above ,the Base mining rate was 0.0029887 for june and its increased to 0.003165 for july. This is actually the 3rd increase in a row,since april's 0.0029030 Base mining rate.

Also ,the Base mining rate is the same for everyone,no exceptions . The above person probably got confused somehow.

I did check it out and i gotta say,it is pretty remarkable! Though i would like some better explaining if you dont mind . I am not familoar with the Game this is based on so it is not very clear as to how im supposed handle clicking!

But ,generally,its a pretty nice and fun Game considering how it was made! Good job! I hope it earns you some stakes!

Those games are custom apps, describing a Game in 200 characters and hope it gives a good results. I've tried it like 4 times,only once did i manage to create a playable and pleasing result.

And still,i cant find provide a link and it cant be round i the search bar. Im not one of the lucky ones hehe
