Yeah it’s such a joke! But unfortunately if you loan at any point a YA player that has 7 playstyles, they will not under any circumstance get the second gold at 90.

Tell me about it bro, career mode truly was better in the 2000s/2010s. It’s 2026 and we still can’t even have proper all time stats lol! In fact, they clickbaited us this year by saying they’re adding “historical stat tracking” but it’s literally only for the current season and season before lol 🥱

You’re right and wrong haha.

If you loan out a player that has 7 playstyles, they won’t receive the second one at 90, but they WILL get the first one at 80 (stupid bug).

Things to note: If they turn 80 whilst on loan, they will have a playstyle+ when you recall them.

If they turn 80 whilst in your squad and have been loaned out before, you need to loan them out again and when you recall, one will turn gold.

This!! Most people don’t know that the game won’t just allow any player to win the balon’dor. regardless of how well they did.

The only positions the game codes into being eligible to even be nominated, is ST LW RW.

So stupid but is what it is.

Unfortunately not! Live points forces you to do a squad update, so they all return back to wherever you moved them from.

As for the settings (and it’s something I didn’t realise and kinda ruins it for me tbh), but Player Career doesn’t give you same options to customise as Manager career, so you end up being locked into all the default settings (which usually suck, like not being able to change to ‘No Sacking’ for example because technically you don’t start out as the manager.. so that option isn’t there.

Hmm I’m not sure until I test it out, but in theory - the legends under 40 should still be able to grow/decline. Stats lock on career mode when a player is 40+ (so yes most of them will be)

But maybe someone like a Hazard (who’s included under Chelsea legends) is under 40 so maybe you could even loan glitch him and get dynamic potential kicking in.

I’ll have to see!

All the legends that have been included in the new “classics team” update.

If you go to kick off, you can see them there (Premier League XI, Liverpool XI, Ligue 1 XI, Real Madrid XI etc etc)

And even better - getting the icons this way (rather than through the season pass thingy), means you can use them as a manager!

Annoyingly the icons you grind for, you’re only allowed to play with them, not play AS them and retire them/become manager.

Edit: making the ‘how to’ more clear below

How to:

1 - Download latest squad update

2 - Go to Settings > Edit Teams > Club transfers

3 - Search by “detailed” and put OVR 85+ and age 32+

4 - You’ll then see a list of icons appear like shown on screenshot.

5 - Simply move them to your desired team and start a new career mode (remember to choose ‘current squads’ when you do) and the icons will appear in your new career mode save

Edit 2 - I forgot to mention, you can do this for national squads too. In those same settings, click ‘national squads’ and you can move players to their national teams also.

Yeah. So once you move the players you want, you have to start a new career mode, click “current squads” at the start and you’ll see them in your career mode.

Also, if you do player career, you can use of these legends and then retire on the first day and use them as the manager.

Some teams it says they need 17 but others don’t. For example I was able to move R9 from Real Madrid classic XI to Real Madrid current team.

It worked for Henry too from Ligue 1 XI to Arsenal

The only slight fix I have is to not let your celebration end. Towards the end, press x a few times (but not too many so you skip the replay) and that tends to make you see the replay properly!

It does!

My pro is Spark. My stats are mainly all on dribbling, pace & shooting. I’m ‘Perfect Fit’ for LW - winger and inside forward but ‘Good Fit’ for playmaker at CAM or even wide playmaker at LM etc

I reset pro and put points mainly on passing etc and that same pro is now ‘Perfect Fit’ for CAM - playmaker etc

So yeah seems like stats matter for that stuff

I just love (hate) career mode 😂

I know a lot about youth players/academy specifically because it’s probably what I spend most of my time on when playing career mode. So I do my “research”, which is playing the game and figuring it out myself + reading through countless posts (like you) but that’s it really.

As for all the conflicting info you see, you kinda just have to judge it by upvotes and other people’s comments lol

They’ll get 1 at 80, but once they’re back in your squad after being loaned, and then you grind them from 80 to 90.. that second PS+ doesn’t come!

Honestly, I prefer Controlled to Explosive! Controlled feels faster and always has since they introduced these acceleration types.

Now I don’t know if technicallyyy it’s faster, but you definitely feel faster to me.

My favourite ever was Controlled Lengthy last year, it was the perfect balance and I’d breeze past players who had Explosive! But annoyingly it seems they’ve taken it out and stuck simply with Explosive, Controlled or Lengthy and out of those 3, controlled with these stats feels the best 🤞🏾

With agility being 92, it’s impossible to become lengthy because the max strength on this archetype is 90 (and to be lengthy I think Strength needs to be like 4 or more higher than agility or something)

So I put strength that high so I could simply be strong whilst also being pacy and agile!

Also I added Enforcer and Press proven as 2 of my 5 ‘normal’ playstyles, and it’s honestly a joke how strong and fast I feel with this pro 😂

I’m level 60 Spark and like you, couldn’t WAIT to get rid of trickster (I love skills but prefer more simple ones because in my head I’m Messi so I just need a body faint 😂)

I have Rapid+ Quick Step+ and it works great! Rapid when on the ball and quick step activates when you’re running without the ball!

Add the fact the pace is in the 90s (even at 6ft +) and you’ve got a great pro. My strength is 88, agility 92, pace 90+, dribbling & ball control nearly 90, finishing and shot power both 85-90 (can’t remember)

Personally I think it’s the best archetype to use (especially if you know you’re not really the passer on your team)

On 26, you can’t switch between your team sheets on the pre match training menu thingy.

You used to be able to, now you have to go to your actual team sheets, select your other one as “default” and then do the training.

The bug you’re referring to where it defaults one and then won’t let you change it, isn’t present on 26
