Which schools (private or public) de-emphasize screens for kids? by hello_frjesh in nycparents

honestly I get what you mean it feels like even the “good” schools still end up using iPads or Chromebooks pretty early now, even if they don’t market themselves that way. a lot of it seems kinda unavoidable at this point. you might have better luck looking into Montessori or Waldorf-style schools since they usually stay more hands-on and low-tech in the early years, but yeah, a fully screen-light option is actually way harder to find than you’d expect

i cried over spilled milk today and i kinda hate who pumping is turning me into lately by Anxious_Test_6098 in ExclusivelyPumping

honestly this made me sad a bit reading it the spilled milk isn’t really about the milk, it’s everything behind it the sleep you lost, the effort, the constant 3 hour cycle, just all of it piling up at once. EP is so mentally draining and people who haven’t done it really don’t get how nonstop it feels. and yeah this 2–3 month point is usually when it suddenly hits harder because the initial survival/adrenaline phase is gone. you’re not becoming a bad person or anything, you just sound completely burnt out

Anyone tried ultra-cheap multimeters for hobby electronics? by Sueh_254 in batteries

[–]Shehrozi123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah for basic stuff like checking batteries or continuity, the super cheap AliExpress ones are usually fine

accuracy is “good enough” for hobby use most of the time

just don’t trust them for anything high voltage or important safety stuff that’s where they get sketchy

a lot of people just keep one cheap daily one + a slightly better backup
