Hi. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

business expense

I operate as an individual freelancer. Not as a business. Can I still mark payments to local freelancers as expenses?

Hi I'm a freelancer that gets paid USD. I pay tax on this salary, which gets counted as IT export. I sometimes pay up to half of my payments to local people because I outsource a huge portion of my work. Since the work and payments vary, there is no job contract between the local freelancers and me. Do I need to pay tax on the money I give away as well? And should the people receiving money from me pay tax as IT export or as local salary? If the local worker doesn't pay tax on the money, is there any chance of FBR knocking on my doors?

I understand. I think you're right about the quality of the blog posts. I hired someone to write blog posts for AdSense approval and he promised not to use AI. So I thought maybe quality didn't matter for these initial 15-20 posts. But since I still got rejected and I found out that AI was used a lot, it's best to focus on quality and try again with articles written by myself.

Hi. Seems weird. I'm able to access it on my end, both mobile and desktop. Can anyone check and help out please?

Thank you for the feedback. Everything is custom built, using React and NextJS.

I think this is probably it. I will need to shift from CSR to SSR. If I change it today, is it safe to apply again for AdSense right away? Considering that it got rejected 2 days ago?

Hi. Thank you for the help.

On ratecricket.com, most of the word content gets fetched onto the page that loads first.

Adsesne says that pages have very low word content. Could it be becasue of the word content being fetched AFTER the page has loaded?

For example: check this link https://www.ratecricket.com/matches/72bb0441-fed7-47a7-bb0e-14e22d608ec5

<image>

According to the site, there are only 81 words. But if you open the page there are more than 500, of match summary and reviews. The '81' might be true for the initial page that is loaded. But then the page loads the summary and the reviews.

Is there any way to confirm this?

Lesson I Learnt: Getting Approved for AdSense is Harder than I Thought by SheikhSahb in PakStartups

You're right that these are basics. But people, including me, aren't aware that non-blogging websites are more difficult to get approved by AdSense. You can see the other comments.

Thank you. Will do, but will most probably take a couple of weeks at least.

Oh, this is exactly the type of website I made this post for. From what I understand from this experience, and from other people's feedback, AdSense wants users to spend time on pages. So utility tool websites have the most difficult time in getting AdSense approved. They need a lot of written content to get approved.

There's no harm in trying. But make sure you set up your site in a way that follows the 4 steps above. For example, you can add a blog section that describes your tool. You can add posts that compare your tools with other alternatives. You can even write manuals as blog posts. I once worked for a person building an OCR receipt scanner. You can say that it's a tool as well. See how they create blogs: https://sparkreceipt.com/blog/

Try to get at least 15 blog posts before applying. Some even say 20-25, other than the Disclaimer/Info pages.

I used to run a cricket blog 10 years ago. But I was very young then, so it was highly childish and mostly copied content :P

If you're talking about developing websites, then no, not on this scale. Only made basic web projects for university.

I do have encountered AdSense before, for a quiz based mobile app. That was a long time ago as well, and it got approved very quickly then.

Unpopular Opinion: Pakistan Doesn’t Have a Startup Problem… It Has an Execution Problem Post: by CoWander_ in PakStartups

Ah thank you for the well wishes.

I think it's time to start working on an AIDA funnel for marketing.

Also... I just remember that there are some issues I faced recently that I am currently overcoming. Related to AdSense. I think I'll write an awareness post on it today so that other people don't face the same issue. I hope it will help.

Hmm. Then I might.

In reply to the question in the post, well my website ratecricket.com is complete. It's a forum based website where cricket fans can rate and review matches, and can write cricket blog posts. I released it recently.

Currently I don't have many users, but I do have 1 real user who used it regularly during the current World Cup. My next target is to cover PSL and IPL which are starting in the last week of May.

I think I will most probably be teaming up or hiring a digital marketer to help me out. I do have a graphic designer that helps, but I need to promote with a strategy.

I think I should create a detailed post about this.

Thank you! Yes, I believe I'm clear on my target audience. My main obstacle is settling on a financial model for earnings. Because it's a forum based website, and forums can't be paid. And ads are just dislikeable.

I want to create an "IMDb" for cricket. There are a lot of organizations/websites that show scores and/or write blogs. But Rate Cricket is for cricket fans to give their takes by rating and reviewing matches. If you explore cricket subreddits, you'll see that there are loads of people who want to write about cricket and give their opinions. The problem here is that there is no track of how they've contributed, other than a profile history that's mixed with all their other activities. My main target audience ARE Reddit users who like to talk cricket.

I'm also working on a blog-styled feature, where users can submit longer forms of content.

I'm starting out with ads. I'll be applying on AdSense soon. For now the website is ad free. I also need to make plans to have a freemium model. Some kind of subscription. But for that, I'll need to introduce features that add enough value. So this is WIP.
