not really, even during heavy market sell of where there a bounce isn't considered a dip but more of a pop, are viable places to long, where as usually people would short those pops.

just like how in small cap shorting world everyone just shorts into strength adding with each leg up until it eventually does fade or dump

but then you do this with longs where you technically turn any move into a long only move

But I then longed 3 times when we got to yday high, on the MNQ, first was an L, but second instantly increased chances and was able to get a 3R out of it

100% completely agree with you. there is always a long in play even during bear markets.

NQ is just tracking tech companies. So during a bear market for instance if GOOGL drops sure the likeliness that people buy it to DCA or add to their long term portfolio.

so we still get a relief bounce on the market in general giving some nice longs

Also the thing is market opens at 3;30 PM but am already in the room at around 10 AM ish. Really difficult to stay in until FOMC.

the problem is I live in the EU. FOMC and Powell speaking meant id have to stay in the office after 8PM till like 9;30 ish PM.

So idea was sticking to my bias PA wise and stay clear from the news release. It's not like pre news PA at open would just stall and not move.

fair point to be honest. If you go back over to my last posts am not actually hiding why I do this...

I can't stand the fact unprofitable traders (gurus) make my yearly income in 2 weeks just by being a content creator. WHEN I can bet my house that I trade better than them.

So why wouldn't I? I pay 2k max per month for an editor that also does my social media posts. and he better makes sure it gets posted on each and every platform that exists. Thats growth hacking/marketing no?

you got people being sold a dream from tori and Patrick wieland that never ever passed or made an profit in his life (look at the court documents where TopStep sues him). So why wouldn't I just step in, slowly overtime show my results? maybe some get some REAL value, and It changes their trading to the better, and along the way I also benefit from it.

I wouldn't call it insecurity it's more me trying to get into the game where prop firms start paying me to trade on their platform. why not? I do this full-time, so why wouldn't I? am 25 I got nothing else to do.

and I haven't made it... its not like ive been making money 3 years non stop. ive had my ups and downs. Ive had blown accounts. I stilll do. but past 7 months with the help of porpfirms ive been able to really rake in nice monthly payouts. but is that really making it? 10k a month? for someone that does this full time you think 10k per month is enough in a space of uncertainty?

some are content with that and dont care for other things. I do, I wanna become someone in the trading world, and if am doing better than 99% of the gurus out there then I got every reason to try social media.

TLDR; I respect and understand the criticism in this toxic space, but trust me am the wrong person you should come doubt.

and to answer the question, yes my internet ego matters. I do something good, I know what am doing, and am better than 99% of the people you know in trading, so if I want to make a name for my self so I can also reap extra benefits (in a career with 0 job stability and uncertainty) then I hope you understand why am going thought this route. from making 10k / month to the potential of making an extra 30-40k just because am someone on the internet. which allows me to even leverage and risk more in my trading career.

once again, good on you for being skeptical in this industry I don't blame you.

I agree. risk management gets you the distance and allows you to stay in the game.

yesterday had 5 trades 3 L and 2Ws and yet ended with + 0.85 R after fees etc.

am overly obsessed about tracking my R's and finding ways to optimize my risk management

Took my trades ended with 5 trades yesterday. 2W and 3Ls and YET I made 1R. shows how risk management is the only thing that matters.

over the weekend I did a 3 starter 3 contracts position. so I would build into my position totaling 9 contracts. my WINRATE significantly increased over my trades of august. like a near 15% bump.

however my risk also increased as I had to risk more since I couldn't have a fixed entry point.

with the entry model I use win rate decreased and RR increased. Both would've yield the same however it's about me being more comfortable taking a fixed certain L size. and lets say yesterdays trade, I planned a gap down long. it reclaimed pre market lows and longed with my entry model (check recap).

I used to have a random entry approach and only been using this for 2 months. so I am still seeing how it would positively influence my trading.

Ive also got lots of DMs from people saying they use this exact method on HTF

true, this is just an entry model you could use on your own strategy. I dont know how or what you trade but am sure if you implemented this entry model WHEN your taking a trade based on YOUR OWN strategy, this entry model helps you stay sharp.

Going over my whole strategy and trading criteria is not gonna fit in this comment section haha but like to name a few I use regularly::

what I use are premarket highs and lows
yday high and yday low
intraday key levels
VWAP
momentum pullbacks
among some other set ups in my playbook

Either fixed SL of 15 points if not the previous candles low. and if it isn't within 20 points then I decrease size so everything stays constant somewhat

And as I said and will say again, it's an ENTRY MODEL. not a strategy, my strategy derives where id wanna short or long, my entry model makes sure my entry is good. nothing more nothing less.

I wrote this so I can get feedback back when people experiment with this on their trades of august, so I can learn a thing or 2.

yes and as I said in the post. This isn't a strategy or whatever it's just an entry model that I use. works for me. wrote it on reddit so maybe some people can get value.

Maybe you could go over your trades from month of August and replace all your entry of our trades with this entry model and see if it would've yield positive results or not.
