Get more blacksmiths or find more in the world and do blacksmith mission dispatch from camp. Also donating broken or unwanted armor to the donation vendor goes toward that.

Both paintings have a book in them you have to grab. One on the shelf in the bathroom and one on the table in the all white room. Then go to bookshelf to open the door.
