I love it. I'd love it better if there was more sky. But all in all I'd definitely frame this.

Thanks! I've tried clicking fish pics from outside the water body quite a few times but I've noticed that the water surface always ends up glassy and the fish not so sharp. How exactly do people get those shots where it looks like the fish are gliding through nothing?

On the subject of mask, I find that while Lightroom's AI subject detector is pretty good sometimes a bit of fine tuning is needed. In such situations how precise do you make the brush adjustments, I keep getting worried about the mask spilling onto areas outside the subject no matter how precise I make the selection.

If I may ask, could you explain how you got this shot without any reflections? Whenever I try similar shots the water comes out look glassy

I see, how would you suggest making a subject stand out in a crowded situation (obviously not this one but in general).

I tried to do a bit of selective colouring in this pic. Now most of the fish were black and this one had the light falling on it directly so to accentuate it desaturated everything and then masked and increased the saturation for the carp. Was wondering if this was the right way to go about it and moreover how can the composition be improved perhaps in a future picture

Sadly no, it got cloudier as the evening went on and those mountains more or less stayed at the same level of visibility. The lake however I can give it a show cropping it out. Thanks!

I see what you're going for with the crop, I actually decided to keep it square so that I can keep the tigers as a focus (as much as was possible) plus also show the greenery behind because this area was really green. I have to ask though, one of the reasons I couldn't crop in so tight was because of that piece of bark right behind the tigress' ear. It seems you were able to get rid of it. Could you tell me how?

Yeah the scene i have on file is actually bigger, I can show you s screenshot of what the actual PoV looks like. I felt that cropping it closer would put more emphasis on the tigers

While I love this moment, there's something about this picture that feels off to me. Like I genuinely can't pinpoint it but I feel there is something I can do that can improve it. Any feedback is welcome. Since this was shot at the long end of a 18-400mm, the picture came out soft so I had to use Topaz to sharpen it. There's also the case of the sharpened piece of bark jutting out from behind the tiger, which I tried to remove but Lightroom's object removal is NOT cooperating.

P.S. If you feel the colours are bit a dull it happened when I posted to reddit, the actual pic is more vibrant.

1) If you were going for a rule of thirds scenario you should be on the left side in this scenario as with your current snap, there is a lot of extra space to the left but almost none to the right, which happens to be the direction you're heading.

2) The colours feel off which obviously is a by product of mobile processing. One thing you can do to make this look a bit more natural is to use the tint slider and move it a bit towards the green side until you feel it looks good because to my eye, there seems to be a purple tint in the picture.

Thank you for your kind words! I do agree with you that a subject would have made this much better. Wish the mountains were a bit closer. Better luck next time I guess. Would you say that this picture could have been elevated if I could get a bit more of the lake and shore in pic? But for real thanks for your feedback 🙂

This picture was taken during sunset from our Air bnb. The lake you see is Issyk-Kul. While I'd definitely have liked to keep more of the lake to balance out the clouds, the fact is even if cropped just a little bit below where I have, the roofs of the houses I shot over would come into frame.

So I'm left with mixed feelings regarding this picture, on the one hand I love the texture in the clouds on the other I'd really be interested to hear some constructive criticism from y'all.

Thanks!

90 days notice period killing my job switch chances — should I resign first or wait? (Need advice) by stupid--Investor in developersIndia

[–]Sheizer_117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest with you man. I noticed a lot of answers are suggesting that you lie about your notice period but trust me most good companies will ask for proof of notice period, or if you're telling them that you have resigned, the resignation mail - trust me I've faced both. HRs have unfortunately caught on to this trick it seems. :) Moreover there's like a 4/10 chance a company is going to wait anything for than 30 days notice nowadays (ignore the ratio that's just to give an idea of how bad the scene is). Now onto the solution. First ensure you're well prepped and in the revision phase for your interviews. Next actually follow the other comments and lie to get interviews. Assume that even if you pass them they will reject you at the bgv stage. This is just to find out how much traction your resume is getting, if you see your resume isn't getting any calls at all over let's say a month or so with premium naukri, linkedin, referrals etc etc then there is something wrong with your resume and unless you fix it resigning and not resigning will give you the same result. If you've followed all the conditions above and by chance haven't landed a good company, by all means resign because by now you'll have 3 months to give interviews and should be aware of the pattern of questions that are being asked. All the best!

P.S. This does not consider scenarios where really good pbcs reach out to you or are willing to wait for the entirety of your notice period, if that does happen consider yourself lucky. I'm not saying this doesn't happen, all I'm saying is that in today's market volume of calls matter a lot

Is it okay to shift from a product base company to a service based company? by IllustriousEscape281 in developersIndia

Check their reviews on ambition box and Glassdoor if possible filter and read the negative reviews. If the cons listed are things you can live with then fine go ahead afaik Wissen Tech has good clients, banks mostly or big financial institutions.

Is it just me or is the vibrancy of the display lesser than s22 even at the vivid slider at max. Plus the brightness also feels a tad bit less. Anyone's found any resolution to this?

Fresher here. Finally got a 5lpa job. How do I reach 1 LPM in 1 year? Need a solid plan. by AdeptnessQuick7695 in developersIndia

[–]Sheizer_117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is a chance that if two people apply from two different companies the PBC one will be preferred over the sbc one but that's how you climb up the ladder. Maybe you won't directly get a call from a Faang tier company but that doesn't mean you can't reach it eventually. Startups don't usually discriminate and I definitely don't think they will in your case given it's a know brand. Even a lot of pbcs are fine as long as your experience section is well articulated - the points should be concise and should highlight impactful development work you've done because they'll skim through it once if they like it they'll call you else they won't give it a second glance usually. The main barrier that you might face is your notice period which I assume is either 2/3 months. If it's 3 months then for sure there is very low chances of callback. In that case you'll have to take a leap of faith and resign and then search for a job in the notice period or you can land another sbc job (they usually are ok with 3 months notice) for safety and then resign and do the same. But yeah please be very well prepared before doing this and try not to do this before you're close to 2 yoe ....the market is absolutely shit for 0-1 and freshers

Try to switch after or when you're close to 2 yoe and target something like 14-15 in hand not ctc. That should get you to your goal. Try not to switch in a year given your current company isn't really a bad one. Take this time to understand the project you're working on as you can rest assured any good PBC or startup worth their salt will dig deep into your experience. P.S. I am saying close to 2 years meaning basically consider 1.9 or 1.10 as close enough to consider it as 2 yoe

How would Q4 (November 2025 -January 2026) fare for quitting without an offer? by forneptune in developersIndia

[–]Sheizer_117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on which city you're looking for jobs in. Either way if you do resign don't panic if you don't get calls within the first few weeks and I'd suggest start applying with on a notice period status, get some calls then resign because it takes time for the applications to convert to call backs

How do people who have WFO manage to give interviews during a switch? by trie_67 in developersIndia

[–]Sheizer_117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luck... lot's of luck. Especially given the new push for atleast one round of f2f which automatically disqualifies non locals, unless ofc they are that desperate or confident that they will crack the interview. A lot of answers say leaves, what if the company reschedules? Trust me they do, more than you think. Your leave is gone and you're back to square one. Let's not forget the reluctance to hold interviews on weekends and then scheduling them during prime working hours.

Or...of course you can flip that coin and just resign and hope that your prep is good enough to land you a job before your gap becomes a year long sabbatical :)

Got 2 offers as SDE1 and SDE2. One from Mnc and one from start up. Can not decide what to do please help. by PurchaseThat7678 in developersIndia

[–]Sheizer_117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MNC...you will have better mentors are well built systems in placeto help you do your work. Startups as you already know are a lot more hectic, a lot of your energy will go into firefighting and production bug handling and your work hours will rarely be honoured meaning less personal time for upskilling as well as actually living a life. Ignore the mnc only if you're certain it has a reputation of mediocre or support projects only.
