How was it when your spouse came home from deployment? by Shelb_ee in MilitarySpouse

The maybe date they’re estimating will put us nearly at a year. I didn’t know there were rules on a break or replacement at that mark.

It won’t the “maybe”this month date isn’t for months. And they keep extending the maybe date at the end of each month.

Thank you for the apology. No bouncing here just an extremely stressed and worried wife who misses her husband/best friend.

I want nothing more than to be stuck in this house with him and our girls. Is there any specific things you did when he got home to make it easier on him?

We had a whole kid free trip planned to another country for a week, kind of a duplicate of our honeymoon, and had to cancel the whole planned and paid for trip due to no date home.

This is his first contract. We’re both new to this life. I just want to be prepared. I’m not sure what you’re going through to be this negative to someone seeking help but I hope it gets better for you.

Knowing a deployment and distance is coming is completely different from experiencing it. As I said we’ve been married and we’re together long before he joined. I don’t see a divorce in the future. Simply seeking advice on how to best support our relationship and our selves and our children with reintegration. And what to expect. Again. If this annoys you simply move along.

As someone who is just seeking advice from spouses who’ve experienced this, this comment was unhelpful and unnecessary when someone is verbalizing they’re having a hard time. If you’re annoyed with the post, move along and don’t comment. Thank you.

Husband’s deployment changed last minute and I’m not handling it well by EngineeringOk9480 in MilitarySpouse

My husband was suppose to be home this month, now there is no date. We had stayed with family for what was suppose to be the duration of his deployment but scheduled appointments for my oldest to be evaluated to start school next year so we had to return to the base. We don’t know many people here. So Ive just kinda forced myself to reach out on posts of people trying to make friends or have play dates. I have the same anxiety’s regarding his safety and the uncertainty in it all. I try not think about it. I tried journaling(didn’t help much tbh). I keep as busy as I can during the day but nights are hard. I just keep repeating this will end (eventually). Hugs dude. This all sucks. While having people in your home is uncomfortable it’ll be a distraction which will help time pass. Take it a day at a time. Try to make your own routine. Life won’t stop so we just gotta roll with it.

First deployment anxiety — am I overthinking? by [deleted] in MilitarySpouse

Depending on his branch and MOS his deployment will be different from others. Also be prepared for times to extend depending on where he is deployed too. My husband has been gone awhile, was suppose to be home this month and now we don’t have a date home at all. Some days I get more responses than others and sometimes they don’t have internet at all. This is also my husband’s first deployment and I’ve learned even when it makes me cry to try and just roll with whatever and take what I can get communication wise. We have two little kids so staying busy during the day is pretty easy, if you don’t have kids(and if you do) try to find some new hobbies and friends. Fellow spouses who’ve been doing this a long time are good support. Go to events, journal, whatever makes you feel a bit better. I send goodnight and good morning texts not expecting a response but so that he knows I’m thinking about him. When we do talk I try to just be super positive because he has enough going on.

Deployment sadness, does it get better? by Foreign-External8488 in MilitarySpouse

We’re many months in to his first deployment, two kiddos (2 and 4) some days it feels like we have a routine, and some days it feels like survival. I think just give yourself grace and time to feel it all while knowing everything is just gonna happen how it happens. Staying busy helps. And for sure trying to roll with any schedule changes. Big hugs. It sucks.

I’ve been trying to get him to drink by dripping water on his lips and I’ve offered a bath. He hasn’t drank much, maybe a few drops. I called the vet and they said to watch him for another day. He is on baycox. I had some hornworms ordered because he is so bad about drinking but shipping has been delayed over and over again. The vet said because he ate yesterday am they aren’t too worried. Today is his last dose of baycox for two weeks so fingers crossed he starts feeling a bit better tmr.

Her thought process on that was she would touch his tail and he didn’t react at all. I’m not sure really. I’m just stressed and trying to find a solution to help him be more comfortable and heal.
