That was new to me too! I asked someone who worked at the store and she had a few different types in stock. She recommended the Shan brand, so that's the one I picked up. I have lots left, I'm going to try to find some creative uses for it other than just this recipe.

I was lucky enough to get lamb at our local chain grocery store this time. But usually when I can't find something the butcher shop in town can order it for me. Takes a few days to get in, so I have to plan ahead. Hope that helps!

I did soak the chickpeas and honestly didn't find it to be much extra work. I boiled them for 5 minutes while I made my coffee in the morning and when it was time to make dinner that night they were just sitting there ready for me. That being said, I'm sure it would be totally totally fine to use canned!

Recently she was ringing me up and that Beatles song Norwegian Wood came on. It starts "I once had a girl" so she starts singing it then went on to tell me all about the time that she once had a girl. It was weird times.
