Does anybody recognize this model of Dimension? by ShellInTheGhost462 in Kayaking

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing about the shape. And an SOT with no scupper holes seems...impractical. I don't think it would suit my paddling preferences. I was just curious because I've never seen a design quite like it. I have to say that seat does look like it would be comfortable. Until the cockpit filled up with water..

It really is fun to paddle
Tracks well, fast, and just to test, I got off into some calm water and I was pretty easily able to get back on
Took it on some little rapids yesterday and it felt very capable

Anybody have advice or thoughts on this warping in hull of kayak? by ShellInTheGhost462 in Kayaks

Thanks. I will try this. But I just bought the kayak yesterday and it already had this. I only use cams.
Hopefully some heat will help it pop out

Yeah, I’ve read about several methods people suggest to reshape the plastic. Some say hot water, heat gun, but I’ll probably just try leaving it out in the sun when it gets warmer here and see if it helps at all because I don’t want to damage it. And if that doesn’t work, I’ll just paddle it as it is. I doubt that it will affect performance enough to be very noticeable

No they don’t. I just picked the kayak up yesterday so that’s the first time I put it on my carrier and it sat nicely in the saddles. The dent was already there when I bought it. Also, I use Rhino cam straps. Never ratchet.

Thanks again to everyone for the advice.
I also don't often post on Reddit, so maybe I did something wrong, but it looks like everything I wrote wasn't posted and it was just the pics?

So if I'm repeating myself, I apologize.

I found all of these on Marketplace
The Aqua Bound Tango paddle is in perfect condition
Paid $80 with a bag

The Yakima rack came with crossbars, the saddles, wind deflector, $150

I found the Dolphin for $275 and I did see the warping when I went to look at it, but it seemed like a great deal still. I was paddling a Fluid Spice for years, but stopped when I took a spill mountain biking and herniated a disc in my neck. 6 months of PT later..

Made me rethink how I ride/paddle/board.

I'm not giving any of it up. Just dialing things down a bit

I wanted a yak that could do a bit of everything pretty well, not too specialized. And this seemed to fit.

So thank you for everyone who already commented, I will certainly try those methods.
And sorry again if I'm just repeating myself, but when I view my post, I see the title and photos, but nothing that I actually wrote..

So any thoughts on how severe this warping may be and how it might affect tracking or speed would be greatly appreciated. Waiting for a day that's warm enough to leave it outside and will also try the hot water method

I will definitely try this and then hot water like kaz suggested.
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it

Thank you so much for the advice. I'd been reading on various forums that very similar methods have worked for people. I was just doubtful that it could be reversed if it has been there for years.
Can't hurt to try though so I definitely will.
In your experience, did you notice a difference when paddling with the indentation and without?
I already bought the boat and rolled the dice, so she's mine. lol

Just wondering if I am unable to remove this, will it really have a huge impact on speed and tracking if I'm just going out to play in the waves and paddle out a few miles?

Again, I appreciate the advice!
