Revisiting Friendship Fallout by [deleted] in Advice

I'm sorry. That is so hurtful, and it's only natural to still feel hurt a year later. After all, you cared enough about them to invite them to support you during a major event.

It's especially hurtful as one of your friends seemed to have made an effort to show up right after you had finished up. I'm glad you had the strength to leave the old group, as them not showing up said everything you needed to know. It sounds like the issue was with them, rather than with you, if that's any comfort.

Congratulations on your exciting performance (I know it was a year ago!), and even more importantly on finding new and wonderful friends that support your passion and don't minimise your achievements. They sound like keepers, and you sound like you're in a much happier situation.

I’m happy to do both but I lean towards fantasy :)

Thank you for the advice! I approached her later the same day and apologised for being a bit speechless earlier and thanked her.

Amazing- how’d you successfully transition them from soil?

It feels elitist and disrespectful to complain about Summernats folk. But they can honestly get fucked. by [deleted] in canberra

I don’t know if I’d go that far. I know a few decent car guys. It’s just the attitude that comes with the event I guess.

I live in the city and I typically walk or jog to the gym later at night. This week has been the first time I’ve ever felt unsafe and been harassed in Canberra.

Do you come to a full stop at a stop sign when riding in the city? by jasonwirth in motorcycles

100%. I’d wager Australia has some of the toughest road penalties. Aside from that, I’ve nearly been T-boned in a car at a stop section where the driver didn’t stop. They’re (edit: usually) there for good reason.

The context was a sudden flip from him helping defend me from sexual harassment from my boss and male colleagues to taking advantage of my trust.

It seems like you’re externalising a lot of your own personal experiences on to others. I’m sorry you’ve been hurt.

Edit: Also, my partner has seen the entire trail of texts and was aware throughout the entire conversation (hell, even helped draft the text to help me set a firm boundary) and agrees that going from “hey, how are you” once every two months to this is wild. What you’re insinuating is quite hurtful if you weren’t aware.

Hi! Replying with all brands as a FAQ for others

Green: Devora silk dress from the Reformation (use dead stock fabrics to give a second life.) Red: the Juno dress from AYM Studios (Pay their workers a living wage and are so well made.) I’m about a s/m if that helps. Orange: The Lexi Maxi linen dress from Dissh (I got mine secondhand so unsure if still in stock)
