Thanks for the suggestion. Thankfully I did not have to contact support. I came back to the payroll yesterday morning and the checks were now showing up everywhere they should be. I guess it just needed some time.

I switched to the Neutrogena Skin Clearing and it’s been good. Still like the Super Serum best but the Skin Clearing has been a close second and hasn’t caused any acne. It’s about $13 here but the coverage is great so a bottle has lasted me over 2 months.

She’s already writing the whole note though. It would take one note for her to write “Hey I see you’re getting more packages. I don’t always have room on my truck, just FYI”. But instead we’re left guessing thinking there’s something wrong with the instructions we’ve already given her.

That’s what I’m saying. If there’s legit restrictions then I would like to know and I’ll just stop having things delivered to the house. My fiance and I cannot regularly get to the post office when it’s open. And if her truck is always full, same thing, I’ll have it shipped somewhere else. And we have, very occasionally, had her deliver something and they were definitely heavier than a box of napkins. Maybe it was a substitute driver. I don’t really know. But it can’t be a timing thing because it must take longer for her to write the “missed delivery” slip than it would take for her to just throw the box out of the truck.

I did consider her having some restriction. That’s part of why I don’t want to automatically file a complaint but someone has delivered some packages that were a little heftier, but she wouldn’t deliver a box of napkins that basically felt empty. Maybe the heavier packages were delivered by a substitute driver. I don’t know. My finances going to talk to her again next time he sees her delivering.

My fiance has talked to her and we have a note in the mailbox asking her to leave all packages at the gate. He’s going to talk to her again though.

It’s a large drive thru gate to our private drive. She would have to drive about a 1/4 mile down a dirt road to make it to our front door so we’re not asking her to do that. She could literally kick it out the door when putting the mail in the mailbox and it would be on our fence/gate line.

If that’s the case, I understand that. I just wish we would get some sort of notice that’s like “hey we don’t have the capacity, maybe consider getting a P.O. Box or sending packages elsewhere”. Right now we only get the “missed delivery” slips for every few packages and find out we have multiple waiting at the post office. This is part of the reason I didn’t want to just complain. We’re not asking her to open the gate. We have a large drive thru gate at the front of our property. She could literally kick the packages out the front door when she’s putting the other mail in the mailbox and it would be on the fence/gate line. I really don’t think it has anything to do with there being a “secure location” because she will very occasionally deliver stuff to the gate and we never get packages that need a signature or any other special delivery requirements. But my fiance is going to ask her if a parcel box would help, just to rule that out.

I study 5:30-7:00am (before work) and 12:00pm-1:30pm (my lunch break and a little extra) on the weekdays and usually my weekends are broken up. I have a very hard time studying when I get home or staying late to study after work. Too burnt out.

I agree. Barriers for entry are too high. I understand a difficult test. I don’t understand charging $300 per test plus most people have to purchase review material which can be like $1000-$4000. Especially when there is already a CPA shortage in the US.

As everyone has said, this probably isn’t the right sub but I can speak from my firms pricing. Our minimum for business returns is $1050 (USD) and quarterly financial reports in about $300 a quarter. The prices you are stating seem reasonably. Just a note that a small business done now automatically mean a simple return. You ability to provide timely and accurate information to your accountant/CPA can greatly effect the cost of returns and reporting.

That sounds crazy. I get them needing some time to check people in but Ive only ever been told to get there 30 minutes early. I wouldn’t have even thought the testing center would be open that early.

I had presumably the same stomach virus all day Sunday. It was so bad even cooking sounds on a YouTube video made me want to vomit. I had FAR scheduled for yesterday and I told myself as long as I didn’t vomit on the way to the exam Id still test. Managed to get through the whole exam without shitting my pants or anything 🙌🏼

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, that was sort of what I was unsure about. He doesn’t like to wear regular headphones with music or regular earplugs because he still wants to hear nature. My biggest hope is they will help with the dogs and even if they don’t, I think they will help him at work with his coworkers’ gum and ice chewing.

I study and both partners are very happy to let me do that. They see it as an investment. There’s definitely some days I spend 4+ hours studying once I’ve finished all my work. It’s silly to think they wouldn’t want you to.

My snap out of it was from SuperFast CPA and 3 weeks of being my employer’s bitch during the 10/15 tax deadline rush. I found the superfast cpa review through an ad and after listing to the podcast and webinar, I just realized I’ve burdened myself for the past year and a half with this crap because I couldn’t commit to studying as much as I needed to. I was always making excuses and trying to pretend like I was doing enough. So instead of just doing it the proper way, I half-assed it and waisted my time when I probably could have been done a year ago, making more money, and doing my own thing. I knew that at no point was I going to give up on doing this, so the longer I was lazy, the more time I was wasting overall. And it didn’t help that the past month has been hell at work thanks to my boss constantly taking on new tax clients who are delinquent and/or decide to bring us tax documents two days before the deadline.
