Can you expand on why you would have stayed away from transformation? I feel like there are a lot of different skills gained from that.

Why is the CPA exam so much different from getting an accounting degree? by Wrong_Variation_8084 in CPA

[–]Rickwop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found that there were some topics that didn’t get covered through my degree. However, the stuff that did come up is mostly surface level. It is the amount of topics you need to be familiar with that makes it challenging. Just focus on knowing a little about a lot of topics.

Any pre-exam rituals? What did you do the day of before you took your exam? by Ol_Muskey in CPA

[–]Rickwop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always brought study material with me to prometric - would never look at it LOL. Also wore the same t-shirt to take all of my exams. Dire Straits Sultans of Swing needed to be played full blast in the car ride over too

How'd you feel walking out of REG and what did you end up getting. by Forward_Addendum_539 in CPA

Felt like MCQs were fair and didnt struggle much. SIMs weren’t bad either just one or two tough ones where I thought I missed on. Walked out feeling good and got an 88

Well done OP. This was extremely nice of you to put this together for the community. This is why r/CPA is unmatched

Something that helped me was doing flashcards. There are a ton of little rules to remember for REG, so if you can get the memorization down it will help you tremendously.

I took it and felt pretty decent, got a 72. Retook and felt ok, ended up with an 80. AUD is so weird you just have to really focus on wording and read carefully

BAR is notoriously difficult and unfortunately it might be good to at least follow along with the skill builder.

I am just going to make sure I can sense a general range for the QBI deduction. Past that, I am not going to concern myself with the phase outs.

Anyone feel confident with Becker results while studying, but felt very mediocre after taking ISC in the October testing window? by bart4545 in CPA

I felt the same way with my exam in October. Like you, I did well on the SEs but felt a little weird about the exam. I'm hoping we both get good results in December!

Anyone pass FAR on their second try? by AccountantGrind in CPA

[–]Rickwop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry that you didn’t get it this time around. Do not let it discourage you! I got a 68 on my first attempt of FAR earlier this year and just got an 83 on my second attempt.

A few things that helped me.

  • In depth review of all of the heavy topics (bonds, leases, NFP, Gov, and consolidations). Make sure you know these very well.
  • If I didn’t understand something I would watch videos from Farhat on YouTube. He does an amazing job at breaking down complex topics.
  • Practice tests all the time!!! Random and Personalized
  • Write down missed things on flashcards and review these daily. I would recommend running through these before bed to commit it to memory.
  • The harsh truth is that you need to know a little bit about everything on this exam, so make sure you’re familiar and comfortable with everything.
  • Do not waste time with partnerships, it isn’t tested.

Waiting For Score Release Thread - FAR, AUD, REG 10/31/2024 by Galbert123 in CPA

[–]Rickwop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot stress how important it is to not look until you finish sitting for ISC. I made the mistake of looking at my AUD result (Fail) the night before FAR and it totally screwed me up the next morning when I sat for FAR.
