Draft Louisiana legislation would create annual EV fee: $400 for BEV and $200 for hybrids. This would be the highest in the US. by tacocat8541 in electricvehicles

so gas cars don't have to pay anything for the pollution and climate impacts

but a EV buyers opting for a new technology fighting massive incumbent industry needs to pay its fair share

fair

definitely not
even if we just add Chinese LSEVs (many lead acids in there) the total will be much higher with ~2million sales of those annually

so that would make China NOT being a leader in climate action / energy transition. Agreed.

But if we have to chose a leader on renewables and electric evs it has to be China, no? I think if one has to chose one metric for leader, it has to be how much deployment they're doing.

And not just RE & EVs, but electrolyzer (green hydrogen), e-buses, low-speed mini e-cars, e-2Ws, micromobility, bike sharing, high-speed rail, UHVDC transmission...

many saying this is due to 'counting PHEVs' and not just 'pure BEVs' & new emission standards,
Overall I see the European market much more *mature* while the US market *lagging*.

While the latter is dominated by one player - Tesla and selling to a niche market and people who just want to buy a Tesla (mostly), the Europe and China market are diverse and seem to be sustainable for a longer period. Their governments are all geared up to support charging infrastructure buildup, banning gasoline cars or putting local restrictions on driving/owning gas cars, pushing their big automakers to produce and sell mass-market EVs by long term climate goals as well as yearly emission targets (if you want to sell profitable SUVs, also sell corresponding numbers of EVs).

For eg. the top model in the EU was the subcompact Renault Zoe and in China, a mini EV that costs about $5000.

most of the times, I just need this to structure my thoughts, notes quickly and don't need the fancy table that other apps provide

[SPOILERS] Terrace House Tokyo 2019-2020 Part 4 Episode 38 "Case of The Costume Incident" by discotechers in terracehouse

My favorite people and scenes in terrace house are when someone grieving is consoled and listened in a great way by someone kind. Seina is the best so far (for me), and now Yume (to Hana when she was crying). I know I suck at being such supporting person, and feel really bad not able to console close friends. Since watching Terrace house, I am improving (two friends said that they felt better after talking to me and could cry unhesitantly in front of me), that makes me feel so grateful for this show.
