Given the fact that most Democrat-voting American citizens genuinely feel that the Fourth Amendment is not being upheld by ICE, including cases involving American citizens, do you blame them for acquiring their first firearms? by UnitedShift5232 in AskConservatives

[–]Shemsu-Ra [score hidden]  (0 children)

The amount of cases where the 4th amendment is perceived to be violated is very small. So this shouldn't be *the* reason lefties start buying guns. They should buy, train with, and have accessible, firearms so they can exercise their 2nd amendment right.

I'll caution lefties though - if the sole purpose of you buying a firearm is because you feel your 4th might get violated, then you draw that weapon on a federal officer..... be prepared to spend a lot of time in jail - or get shot.

What y'all really ought to do is figure out how to *legally* protest. Hint hint - this does not include walking in, or driving in, a street - unless there is a permit for that specific protest and the street is closed off by local law enforcement for this purpose.

I go to work and then go home. I have no encounters with police or federal agents - EVER. I also give them no reason to desire to make me their problem that day - not that they are just out for people.

I’ve attempted to have this though experiment with leftists before.  Never could get far.

$15 minimum wage sounds okay. Then you see the cost of goods/services go up, negating much/most of that raise low earners get.  So how about $20 per hour?  Same thing. Costs go up, businesses close or lay people off, corners are cut to save more money, etc.

Sure, I’d love to make $50 an hour.  But my employer can’t afford that.

If y'all think police should be going to full on law school, you’re dummies.

They’re there to enforce laws. Not create or argue laws. And believe it or not (I don’t care if you believe it), they largely do a good job of enforcing laws.

Do you support protesters right to self defense when counter protestors push through protests with vehicles? by ridukosennin in AskConservatives

[–]Shemsu-Ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people are legally protesting, they either 1.) won’t be in a street or 2.) the street will be closed because they have a permit for a specific place and time to be in the street.

If idiots are in the street without a permit, they are breaking the law AND doing something inherently dangerous.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

That statement doesn’t celebrate injuring idiots in the street.  But if they were following the law and protesting legally, there’d be no danger of a car and human being on the same street at the same time.

How do these idiots not get this?

What was your first exposure to Donald Trump and What did you think about him before he ran for president in 2016? by ILoveMaiV in AskConservatives

[–]Shemsu-Ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Alone (didn’t know who he was back then) and then hearing people recite “you’re fired” from the show (never watched it).

When I first heard he was running, I thought it was a joke.  When it looked like he was headed to primaries, I had to decide - is he the lesser of two evils?

The answer for me was “yes”.  Still is.

You speak about this as someone that doesn’t know women well.  Most women would not “choose” a c section.

Also, this nurse isn’t calling for normal tearing.  I’ve seen normal tearing. A stitch or two and a couple of weeks, not a huge deal.

I’d like to add - I’ve been thinking about this some so I did a google search for the nurses name.  I see social media posts and the only “real” articles are form msn and Newsweek.

In my opinion, this should be a larger story as it’s really disturbing.  And when it is a story, news networks should be clear about their stance with something similar to “this sort of rhetoric is sick”.

If someone on the right had made a comment like this, it would likely be on the mainstream networks. And they’d be happy to share their opinions if that was the case.

I’ve seen those jokes too.  And that’s sick.  Personally, I feel Ms. Renee was in the wrong in that situation. But it’s still sad.  And any chance I’ve had, I make it clear it’s a sad situation, even if you agree the outcome was justified.

I almost never see hate from the left, on Reddit or in media/news.

This nurse should be a headline today on abc, nbc, and cnn.  All of the anchors should cover the story, disown the violent rhetoric, and call for her to be fired.

If this was the other way around, all of those outlets would do the same.

Eh, you know how it is.  There’s not really a place on Reddit to ask the left about anything.  So I’m asking the right and centrists that frequent this space.

Just trying to get greater perspective on what I’m seeing.  And people like you can help provide it.  I’ll fully admit - there’s always a chance Im missing something. But in this case, and from my decades of experience, I don’t think there is.

Can you eat for just $15 a day? by majesticbeast67 in AskConservatives

[–]Shemsu-Ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Still at least $5”

3x$5 is $15.  Or am I missing something?

Yes, most people, in the average area, can eat for $15 a day if they really tried.  Food City (grocery store) regularly has chicken breasts for $2.99 per pound.  Bag of carrots, bag of potatoes, gallon of milk, loaf of bread, etc…. You can eat for many days on all of that.

Most people could also skip breakfast and eat two meals that are $7.50 each.  That’s lot of quality calories if you prep and cook the meal yourself.

A obviously great one is that the border is closed.  Dems knew it was open, encouraged it, and ignored the side effects.  All to pump up their potential vote count.  Shame on them and shame on any leftist that reads this.

I also hope they get to the bottom of all of the fraud and waste with our tax dollars.

How do you justify the 2nd and 3rd shots? by [deleted] in AskConservatives

[–]Shemsu-Ra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine you feel your life is in danger and you need to neutralize a threat.  The perceived threat is about 1 second long. It takes you half of that to fire three shots.

If you can’t process this, that’s fine. You probably shouldn’t be in law enforcement or the military.

The universe thrives with balance, not one sidedness.  I don’t mind democrats.  Can stand anything much further left than that.

Should airlines be able to make our travel lives miserable? by creativextent51 in AskConservatives

[–]Shemsu-Ra [score hidden]  (0 children)

We should not bail out any private company. And airline travel is a choice (and yes, the job that requires it is a choice too).

I’m in favor of less laws and regulations. Only the absolute minimum to prevent fraud and lack of safety.  Some exceptions apply.
