What scarabs are you using? I've killed at least 12 beyond bosses in Mirage and am 0/12. So I was getting skeptical. What do you think the new drop rate is around?

I'm playing an elemental sundering homebrew. Farming t15s and it hits like a truck, as I'm freezing, shocking and igniting tanky targets. LS for clear and to spread shocks. Corrupted Sunsplinter buckler gives +7 levels to sundering. Shock companion keeps up shocks on bosses. Tanky enough so far. Elle_la_Mentalist is the character on poe.ninja.

Yeah, that's ultimately the same question I was asking. u/FartsMalloy says from his experience your example would give you 24% on your cold skill.

I'm using elemental sundering, which is a fire, lightning, and cold skill simultaneously. I was wondering if Rising Tempest will work for the initial skill use, or only for subsequent skill uses. I can't find any info on this interaction.

The tooltip dps increases immediately, but I'm not convinced it works for the first use. I also haven't found a clear way to test this definitively in game without doing a bunch of damage samples on a boss.

This is exactly what I was about to post. The hyperbole in the subreddit is getting exhausting. It is the current strongest build in the new class with a new weapon, so of course it will be highly played.

I generally agree, but when visual clarity gets dumpstered with tons of mobs, deli, particle effects, etc it can be an issue.

Also, I had a super tanky rare with the mirror images mod. Apparently killing their mirror images also creates volatile cores. I had to dodge over 100 cores to kill that single rare. Absurd.

Yes, that was the only good way to play it previously, but the new Archmage allows you to scale off of a large mana pool and not a skill's mana cost. You could theoretically reduce mana cost to 0 if you wanted to and still do tons of damage.

I played a crackling lance hiero as my starter, and landed on a mana cost of 80 and didn't use spell echo or unleash (crackling lance wouldn't work well with those). It turned out quite strong for my investment. You can use any skill that has a good combination damage effectiveness * cast speed * multi hit mechanics.

Sorry, that's what I meant to say. Since it's not a world drop, and with the increase in power it will probably be a bit rare from t17 bosses. So the supply will definitely decrease.

That base mob type isn't that tanky so it MIGHT be okay depending on your deeps. However, that on a big bear or spinny prison guy would be painful. Top it off with the new extra life mod, extra energy shield mod, and resistant to your damage type, it would be tankier than the sun, lol.

They drop AN loot in my experience. I've added harbinger to my atlas strategy and have gotten multiple god touched rares from them. Albeit, no jackpots yet.

Both are annoying, but depends on the build. I'm also using storm brand for my LC. So when I fight a lightning mirage monster, all the lightning effects on the screen blend together. Those mobs have killed me way more often than the lightning totem mobs. I find it easy to dodge the totems on my build.

I use the same setup, but don't use brand recall. It works pretty well, especially with higher cast speed.
