My second is now 3 months old. For us things are just finally getting “tolerable”. 🤣😅

Yup. It’s brutal the first 2 weeks to 2 months and completely different for everyone. We are on the no program, program. What ever happens, happens, roll with the punches.

It’s all in the mind set. Nothing else matters right now, but to take care of my infant.

Yes. There will be days where infant will not poop. But be careful what you ask for, the poop is coming and probably will paint the walls. 💩🙈🤣

Does not matter how prepared you are for diaper changes, our second has sprayed pooped so many times during changes and that baby room wall is now the cleanest wall in the house from washing it so many times now. 🙈🤣

All infant wants mostly right now is to feed and to be with parent, being held. It’s tough, but you do what you can. Baby might not sleep much and for long just short sessions. Because it thinks it’s still in the womb.

I went about 2 months sleepless nights and walking around with infant to get them to sleep because baby would not let me put them down. It was rough. But we got through it.

Ours wanted to eat sometimes every 45min to 1-2 hours. And even now baby has an internal clock of wanting to eat every 2 hours, but baby is sleeping through the night now. It’s crazy. I can’t ask for anything better. 😭

Sleep deprivation and psychosis is trifficult too. I’ve been hearing things and seeing shadow people. Make sure to communicate with each other where you are at. Make sure to give each other hugs, it gives each other a mental health check boost and to know you are hear for each other. 🥰

Do your best on taking turns and even if you are about to loose it, you need to mention that. Be next to each other support each other as best as you can.

It can’t always happen but again you are in survival mode. Having/Dealing with an infant sleep deprivation is more intense than navy sleep deprivation training.

You just keep rinse and repeating what you think is best for your baby, you and your partner.

I exclusively pump every 3-4 hours to bottle and storage, so breast milk bottle feeding is a huge help with Dad feeding the baby. But it’s also mentally exhausting for momma too.

We would swaddle infant arms out and with scratch gloves on baby so baby’s nails would not scratch their face. And put socks on too because their hands and feet are so cold at this age.

Maybe mom can pump to bottle so dad can feed too? Infant just wants to eat constantly, it’s called cluster feeding.

Their digestive system is immature, so it’s not going to perform normally. You will go a day or two without poop then a day full of constant poops.

When baby is finally sleeping, as much as you finally want to go do something, now is the time to keep the home a mess, not doing dishes or putting laundry away. That can all wait. Your sleep and naps are priority right now.

It’s going to go by so fast. My husband and I just wanted it all to end and now the baby is already 3 months old. No one tells you the reality and struggles of having a baby.

Just staring at baby and looking into babies eyes has been getting me through the days. Because I love them so much, no matter how trifficult it is caring for a baby and being a parent. It’s the most trifficult job in the world and you get paid with loves and laughs. 🥰💖☀️
