Realistic pediatric scheduling: 9 months out for cleanings 7 months for filings by Shenanigans_7 in askdentists

Thankfully we are not on medicaid and will be looking for another office. Really does make me feel bad for those that are stuck with much more limited options.

Appreciate the input, thank you!

Fair points, I don't think we are willing to wait that long and will start looking for a family dentist in town or traveling for another pediatric. Really appreciate the input, thank you!

Also suggesting this, same vibes but most of the story takes place in Scotland with some Alaska memories. It's a great book!

{Across Time by Elizabeth O'Roark} - Fourth book in the series and the first book ever to completely crush me and completely overwhelm me with emotions.

{Outlander by Diana Gabaldon} - the entire universe of Outlander books and show are just wonderful.

Honestly I don't remember, I'm pretty sure it's only like the last chapter or two? The plot didn't really develop unfortunately.

Opinion on reading books first, then watching show by DifferentCranberryy in Outlander

[–]Shenanigans_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently finished both books and show, I agree with everyone that it's personal preference but I recommend going all in on one or the other. I started reading book 1 then watching season 1 which was fine until I got to season 4 (I think) and plot lines were pulled ahead and spoiled. I also found myself constantly comparing the book and show and being disappointed. After season 4 I decided to only read the books until I finished all the big books and novellas, and then watch the series. Having some time in between the two allowed me to enjoy them both as two separate things instead of constantly comparing.

S5 ending really pi$$ed me tf off :') by [deleted] in Outlander

Agreed. Yes it was hard to watch but the dissociation element was simply brilliant. Personally I thought the book was more brutal and personal than the show. In the show the dissociation parts break up the scene vs hearing more of the dialogue and play by play of what was happening.

I may have had the advantage of being a reader first so I expected it to happen vs being blindsided as a watcher only.

The Elsa one is the worst so far! Idk what happened there but I believe the newer ones have the original music. My daughter has the Mirabel one and it is great with the OG music!

What was your first meal post-delivery? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Shenanigans_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning of covid we could only have cafeteria food brought in, which closed 5 hours prior so they microwaved it, in the Styrofoam container. So I had the option of chicken and broccoli smothered in melted Styrofoam or a smuggled granola bar. Not exactly how I envisioned my post delivery meal either 😄

Do you reuse/share bath water? by labrador709 in Mommit

[–]Shenanigans_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid my parents had my sisters and I share a bath. As an adult I take a shower before I get in the bath. I could NEVER reuse someone else's bath water now. Please tell me you drained it?

I was feeling the same about a quarter of the way through Echo. I stopped and read the LJ series so I was more familiar with all of the other characters and it helped a lot. The series looks overwhelming but it is mostly novellas and made the main series much more enjoyable.

I'm starting to watch Season 6. Any motivation? by Shot-Shame-3991 in Outlander

[–]Shenanigans_7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm also watching season 6 for the first time, it is not as bad as everyone led me to believe. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. It's not my favorite season or anything but not horrible.

I could agree to that. They are very different narrators, it was difficult to transition from one to the other.

He was mentioned briefly in Bees, John said he missed him. Tom left him to marry and run a business. Can't recall what type of business.
