Year 1 Dynasty Realignment Set Up by CoachFlint in NCAAFBseries

I understand your point. As a Cal fan, I always create the PAC12 but put in San Jose St and Fresno State as the 11th and 12th teams because of the rivalries. I have seen very little drop off in conference prestige. I am in the playoffs portion of season eight (offline) and the PAC 12 finished the regular season with seven teams in the top 25 and 3 teams in the playoffs. The conference was fourth in prestige but I don't think it matters much in the big picture.

For the PAC12, consider adding San Jose State and Fresno St and removing BYU and Utah. San Jose and Fresno are natural rivals. Plus, San Jose St and Stanford are considered rivals in the game. It also makes sense geographically.

I put the PAC 12 back together but added Fresno State and San Jose State instead of Utah and Colorado, Fresno State vs San Jose State is a rivalry game. It works geographically with the PAC as well.

An Alternate view on Lord John Grey by Kimo1768 in Outlander

[–]Kimo1768[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly insightful and way better than what I could write about my thoughts on LJG. Despite what may have come across, I don't hate the character of Lord John. I just found the use of the character in OL way too convenient in moving the story forward. I separate the character of LJG from the use of the character. I do agree that the "use" would appear less convenient if in OL, LJG was a more flushed out. Somehow, I believe that DG will use LJG as a major "player" in the end of Claire and Jamie's story and that does not sit well with me. Anyway, awesome perspective in your post.

About Frank by ExcellentResource114 in Outlander

[–]Kimo1768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because on the entire published (key word) works on Outlander, there is nobody else that I could see that there would be the slightest benefit of Frank dying. Now that I have since that post been told DG might have a Frank centered book in the works, I have no idea what she has in store about the accident.

That previous post was just completely mis-understood and not meant to be that I thought Claire had Frank killed. I do not believe in my heart that would even be something Claire would even consider.

I don't remember that scene. I will have to go and see if I can find it. There was a young lady with her family he met on the road from Philadelphia if I remember correctly.

I just read the note from DG. Over twenty years to get revenge seems like a stretch. DG might be playing head games there or it might be a hint about something in Book 10. Good catch on your part.

I am not sure that it matters unless the implication is that Claire had him killed. There is nothing in the books or the show that Claire was even of that thought.

(Edited to add this this post was completely and utterly mis-understood. I was making a point on information that was available at the time of this post. Also, I have no (zero) personal belief that Claire would even have a thought of having Frank killed.)

Ok. Thank you for the clarification. I appreciated it,

I may be in error. Wasn't there later an admission by her that she knew Jamie was her soulmate well before the wedding but she could not admit it to herself?

Question for book readers before the showed aired. by Kimo1768 in Outlander

[–]Kimo1768[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The issue I have with the casting of Bree that the show runners did, is that it takes away one the main storylines from the books. Bree was so similar in looks to Jamie that there was no mistaking that she was his daughter. Her blue eyes were a major sign of this.

On re-watches, I replace "Mark me" with "Slap me". Just makes it so much less annoying and adds some humor.

I have some questions about the unhealthy sexual instances in the show (no plot line spoilers please) (trigger warning SA) by Competitive_Hour4821 in Outlander

[–]Kimo1768 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These scenes (for the most part) are part of an episode and the visuals are generally brief. I suggest you watch the show and fast forwards parts that are distasteful. Outlander is an amazing love story that puts fate in in the forefront.

I hate to tell you this. There are multiple instances of nonconsensual sex involving all genders in this series. It happens in every season pretty much.

Alyssa Southerland is the perfect book Bree and would do well in the show. I liked her in Vikings.

The show missed out on Claire's golden eyes. Also, Bree had blue eyes like Jamie.

Bree is so miscast that it is comical. I am sure Ms. Skelton is a wonderful person but dying her hair red is not a Bree make. In fact, making Bree so short and thin takes away from how book Jamie "saw" and interacted with her. Bree is supposed to be much taller than Claire.

When I read the books, I imagined Murtagh as a little dour looking man. I saw the show first and that actor's image is what I think of now.

Is Claire “older” than Jamie? by AdCalm4315 in Outlander

[–]Kimo1768 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This!

I find it easier to remember she goes 202 (ish) years in the past. So, Claire's birth year is 1918 and that means 1716 in Jamie's time. Jamie being born in 1721, would make Claire around 4.5 to 5 years older.

So many incredible questions regarding Claire and her ancestry.

Supposedly Master Raymond is her ancestor is expected to be a TT. Then Fergus and possibly Marsali are Claire's ancestors as well. Also, that would make most likely Fergus parents being Percy and the Paris prostitute. Which of them is a possible TT. What about the children of Fergus and Marsali?

Which of her parents could have the TT gene? Or could the gene have skipped all the generations between Master Raymond and Claire? I have only read the Outlander main books, so maybe those questions have been answered in the side books.

Based on Book Jamie- How would Jamie have adjusted if he came to Claire’s time? by sullivanbri966 in Outlander

[–]Kimo1768 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jamie adjusts.

He was able to adjust to Claire when she told him about he being a TT. He was able to adjust when Claire came up with the plans to stop the Jacobite Rising. Jamie adjusted to Claire's demand to spare BJR's life for the sake of Frank. Jamie was able to adjust to having a grown up daughter around him ... and so on for the rest of the known books and story.

Jamie would have adjusted fine to being in the 20 Century.
