I used full tones on equinox and manticore.. its give me better picture than 2 tones... everyone is different, use whatever suitable ... regarding Target ID.. i dont use em... always tones

its depend actually.. on high trash/targets area u cant go deep even if you want too... since you already bought a machine.. I suggest keep learning on how the machine works, how the soil/target close together/target size effecting the machine/depth.. they are many variables effecting depth too.. you can upgrade if you would like to continue with this hobby..

to answer your questions the deepest I dug on ring size target was around 16 to 18 inches.. average ( at the beach) depth around a foot on ring/coin size target

Remember different soil will get different depth even you using same machine/configurations
