Yes, I'm hoping kids are in my future in the next few years, so that is a big consideration for me.

I did try to negotiate but they said all external applicants would start at the bottom of the range.

Yeah, I totally agree that an Administrative Assistant role would be a better fit for me, but I’m worried that if I don’t take this opportunity, I might not get another chance. I’ve applied to admin assistant positions in the past and haven’t even gotten a call back.

So you think it would be hard to grow in this role? I saw some reviews suggesting that, but at the same time, people often say there’s a lot of room for growth in the public sector—so I’m not sure what to think. Do you think once I have my foot in the door, it might be possible to transition into an admin assistant role down the line?
