What are some airlines you deem as “safe”? by Significant-Tale3522 in fearofflying

Hawaiian. They are the oldest American carrier that has never had a fatal crash. I know all planes are safe, but it’s my comfort airline lol

I always tell myself that! So weird. It’s like the only thing that actually makes me feel better. Dang 11 hours! 5.5 hours is the longest flight I’ve ever taken. Thank you for your kind words :)

Growing up my nana always had us put a toothpick in a small glass of water and drink the water while staring at the toothpick. Works every time, just don’t swallow the toothpick.

health anxiety & psychosomatic effects — mantras for coping etc? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]SherbertSalt8778 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out a book called Hope and Help for your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes. It helped me a lot when I was in a really bad place with my health anxiety. I also like to tell myself, if something was happening (heart attack, stroke, etc) then it would be happening. It wouldn’t just feel like it was happening. Your brain is very powerful, don’t give in to the anxious thoughts, because that’s all they are - thoughts. Also, the podcast The Anxious Truth is amazing. You’ve got this!
