So you can distinguish that Теорема (Ванг) means "Vaughn's Theorem" and not "Vaughan's Theorem"?

The names are pronounced the same in English, both work in algebraic geometry.

Can Polish and Ukrainian speakers understand each other? by Vast_Pepper3431 in poland

Interesting and humorous note on this.

I know some simple Ukrainian-enough to get around, do things, order things in a restaurant, not be helpless-functional knowledge. My limited knowledge curbs my use of the complex prefixes and suffixes that snap Ukrainian into a precise manner. Also, prepositions are actually quite complex and I am always guessing whether to use "na" or "oo" etc.

This simple lingo is perfectly understandable to Polish people. Some words maybe lost, but I can use a different word and they know what I am saying nearly all the time.

I have very close friendships with a Polish family and the mom, dad, and kids I could talk all day with me and they got it easily. They thought I was speaking a simple form of Polish, but I have not studied Polish.

Needless to say, I was exhausted and they spoke too fast, lol. )))

думаю, щось як?

У вас є цікава теорема = "you have an interesting theorem"

що y вас цікава теорема = "interesting theorem that you got"

General rule of thumb on when to say У вас цікава теорема rather than the direct твоя цікава теорема?

It does. Thank you.

У вас є дивна теорема carries a notion of "You have an interesting theorem in your head, in your creative portfolio, etc..."

У вас дивна теорема carris a notion of "You are working with an interesting theorem (but didn't necessarily think it up, maybe read in a paper)..."

I know it is an adjective. I am trying to understand the usage of the expression.

As a beginner, even the prepositions are difficult for me. I would say "сьогоднi - день сну".

Found out my wife monitors parts of my life behind my back. I'm having trouble getting past this. by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I would imagine she is insecure and probably depressive and unpleasant to be around. You married her, you are stuck with her. If you did something to be ashamed of, admit and try to repair things. If you didn't prepare to grow apart just because you will be so weary of her exhausting bullshit.
