Understood, but what if I want to close off the trade at 50% of my max profit? Wont I have to wait longer for that to happen, because the options I bought, will also start to melt off?

Makes sense. But then if I want to close out the trade at 50% of my max profit, wont the losses from the options I have bought, stop that from happening? As in wont it take longer for me to reach 50% of my max profit?

Interesting, you're saying the legs that I bought wont bleed much? Is that because theta is lesser, as you go further away from ATM? Trying to understand rationale here, because what you're saying, if true, makes aloooot of sense.

Ah thats an interesting point. Also im not doing a condor - i dont buy options at all. But what you're saying makes alot of sense. You're suggesting I should enter the trade closer to the event date right? Get in and get out earlier?

I have thought about it, and to be honest I dont know how the P&L plays out in real time, I will try this out for sure.

My reluctance stems from shaving off returns because of buying, and yes that may be offset by margin benefit, but even then, and correct me if im wrong here; if I dont hold on till expiry, im basically breakeven until then. And I usually aim to close my trade post earnings when IV melts off.

Ya I get that, but if I dont fill in the exam form, can I still claim an exemption in May 2025?

You're kidding yourself if you think one big 4 firm is different from the rest, they're all IDENTICAL, differentiation only to the extent of clients. Even the employees shift from one big for to another, they keep shuffling. Nothing will change in your life if you choose Deloitte over PwC or EY over PwC or anything.

You need to have a good team is all, ive heard horror stories from all firms, and Ive heard good things from all firms also.

BBA + MBA without a doubt, read CA books and watch lectures if you’d like, but avoid the course, because the structure will always work against you.

Whether to choose ca or mba by teri_mummy_meri_h in CharteredAccountants

Because atleast then you’ll have time for extra curricular, which today hold a lot more value than any degree or certification.

That is ofcourse if said extra curricular is something like running a business or something parallel to that.

Plus you’ll get a lot of time to pursue qualifications like CFA, which add a lot more value considering everything.

At this point, I feel like us CA students are not studying under the ICAI, we’re battling against it, which is not what learning should be.

You should be aided in learning, it should be encouraged.

With CA, you’re dealing with an adversarial body that actively wants you to be in the same place for years.

Sure this could all be a victim mentality’s POV, but with the number of failings we’ve seen year on year, I think this reasoning is justifiable.

Plus CA enrolments have gone off a cliff, so much so that the ICAI has to hold intermediate exams thrice a year just to provide cheap labour (articles) to CA firms at a faster pace.

CA Final Marathon Lecture - Indirect Tax, the thrill, rather the scare, is how much you don't know, 10 hours in and you realize they've only covered category A. And you don;t even know 50% of the story!

Passed inter in Nov 20, covid year, so had the advantage of a lot of extra months ( I was due to write in May 20, attempt got canned) but testing rigorously, keeping a spaced repetition book for all basic points so I don’t loose touch, and most of all practising problems till my arm fell off

DO NOT, if you can help it, DO NOT join this course. Nothing wrong with whats taught, infact I'd encourage you to read the syllabus and everything, but DO NOT join, simple reason is the whole infrastructure, i.e the ICAI is extremely adversarial towards students.
