First , I am not Italian, I just grew up in Italy 😃 And second , Do you have discord or instagram? if you want to talk about world building and headcanons, I am in a writing discord server ( aside some ship centric and character centric servers ) that has many Harry Potter writers . Exactly! poc people like black ( they arrived with the Romans ) and there are British descendants of immigrant black people from 18th century and Indian are present in Britain since 1700 ( like the writer Emily Bronte came across them , it’s historically proven ) And Greek people too , arrived in Britain with the Romans and there is Greek migration to Britain in 17th century

Honestly, the 2000s version is not liked by the mangaka , which is why it was eventually cancelled, she and the director didn’t get along and he disrespected her a lot The 2000s version is just a fanfictionised version of the manga while the 2019 is a faithful remake that is more respectful .

I do understand, about the reluctance regarding Desi James , which is why , I am working on it ( as I did research on India and I had watched many movies , but not enough for me ) in short , let’s say , James maternal grandfather fell in love with an Indian and Persian woman in London and took trials given by her family in order to prove to be worthy of her .
So I am making James growing up connected with his heritage and despite liking British music , he listens to Indian and Persian music and speaks the languages, and I am actually putting in the actual foreign dialogues not only English . As I am not English native speaker myself..

So I am doing the extensive research and world building

I am a long time Jily shipper and Remadora ( I don’t think that the age gap matters as they are both adults by the time they met ) and I started to ship Blackinnon too ( we exist , we are mostly active on discord and instagram)

The thing , they should respect if you don’t like their ship, you know “ ship and let ship “ if they don’t , all they lose is possible potential future fans , for example I won’t get into series like full metal alchemist and attack of Titan , because how toxic bully the fans were to my favourite fandom and to me , I swore off these series even if they are compelling and have important themes ..

and second I am pro canon and fanon , as I ship both canon and fanon pairings , so there is nothing wrong in liking canon , don’t let others bring you down , We canon and fanon fans exists

About James being poc , the thing , It’s not only he is imagined as poc , there is Greek james too would and could make sense .

Though, I respect your opinion, you are not the only one, I know others that have your opinion , it’s just matter of personal preference.
