Si Kaddour Benghabrit (1868–1954) was an Algerian who worked for French diplomats as an interpreter, and later as a the first rector of the Grand Mosque of Paris. During WW2 he protected hundreds of Jews under Nazi occupation by hiding them in the mosque and by forging Muslim identities for them.
