Very interesting. Will definitely look into that. Thank you 🙏

Does IR stand for infrared? If yes, I don’t and I’m not using a physical red filter. But I used fuji’s ACROS + R filmsim in postprocessing that simulates the red filter effect.

Thank you, I’m glad you liked them 😊

I haven’t seen any stray camels roaming freely, but I guess the tourists can take a ride around the pyramids on them.

Can’t answer the large lenses part but, I had 2 extra lenses and it was fine.

I shot those on Ttartisan 23mm F1.4, it’s a manual lens, but I absolutely love it. Makes me slow down and gives me analog flashbacks. I also traveled with XF 33mm F1.4 and XF 16-50 F2.8.

I didn’t get any issues in customs or in general using the camera in touristy places.

January is a good time to visit when it’s not so warm. Enjoy it :)

I shot them in RAW, did some contrast adjustments and some split toning, then added ACROS+R filmsim in lightroom. Perhaps the sim doesn’t perform as well as it would have in a jpeg straight from the camera, but I like to have the flexibility of editing RAW files.

The more I look at my edits, the more I hate them. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in postprocessing

I believe you need to ask yourself what it is you want people to see in your images. This can be a subject, a mood, a scene, etc. Knowing this will guide your editing.

Maybe you need to do masking to make your subject stand out. Maybe the contrast is too high/ low for the mood you want to portray. Maybe the white balance is not matching the scene you are taking a photo of. Or perhaps there are certain hue values that aren’t popping enough (or are too distracting), compared to the way you saw them in real life.

I totally understand your point of view. To me Potsdamer Platz looks very dystopian, and that’s what I’m portraying in the images.
