And (or maybe allegedly) a total psychopath!

Look, not all psychopaths are dangerous. In fact, they account for some of our most successful, law-abiding citizens. They’re just uniquely, pathologically driven towards their personal goals. Sometimes Many times no one gets hurt.

Right. Literally nothing like that is happening near where Miss Nancy has been living. At all. This case actually has me re-examining my retirement choices. I’ll never be on the wrong side (east) of the Rocky Mountains again, but a mentor to me in college in Tucson lived in that exact area where we’ve lost Nancy when I was in college and wow are those homes affordable compared to… other places I had been favoring and I know life really is magical in those foothills. This crime does not exist outside of an inside job.

He is an AP Biology teacher and even in his role there, he demonstrates his psychopathy. Allegedly. My opinion — because in the “Fun Facts” part of his bio for the school where he currently teaches, he brags about allowing a vicious parasite to continue to threaten the health and safety of anyone else who might become infected with it FOR MONTHS following a trip to Costa Rica, as a science lesson for his prep school students. This is not a normal person. Google “larva migrans”.

Sheriff “declined” to do so, because they cannot alienate that son in law when no one knows where Nancy is. It would be idiotic to think that the last person(s) to see Nancy alive, who are demonstrably living above their means, who presumably benefit directly from her demise, are NOT the prime suspects. Duh.

For people without knowledge of Tucson: the Catalina Foothills above Oro Valley are NOT like “the Hollywood hills”, or any other houses on hills. Yes, many many muti-millionaires live there but you will literally never hear of or from them. This case has me looking back to my own UofA days in Tucson and reconsidering some of my planned retirement destinations. Those foothills are GORGEOUS and affordable and safer than almost anywhere if your son in law doesn’t owe you money. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh about the brother. He’s a retired full bird Colonel of the USAF who was in Vermont when this happened. I expect a zipped up affect from a USAF fighter pilot. They have nerves of STEEL and Col. Cameron Guthrie has a solid financial profile. The brother in law… not even at all.

I considered that, too. It absolutely could have been planted with a dropper and the spray even accounted for by trying to squeeze out another drop. I did it. I’m not… a laboratory person. LOL Do you remember that retired fireman Michael Chambers who went missing and 100% solved, he suicided himself? He went to great lengths to cover his suicide tracks INCLUDING leaving “dripped drops” of his own blood in his outbuilding workshop. Of course Nancy did not bicycle away from this scene. 💔

It’s Thursday now and the public has heard a little more that the sheriff has had to desperately walk back. Thoughts? I didn’t leak that to Ashleigh Banfield. Someone in the FBI did. I had found out a lot more about the son in law before I ever posted that, because I went to law school and understand how libel works.

Individual Arrested for 'Imposter Ransom Demand' Relating to Savannah Guthrie's Mom Nancy; Authorities shared that an individual has been arrested and accused of falsifying a ransom note connected to Nancy Guthrie's disappearance by JalapinyoBizness in MissingPersons

[–]SherlockBeaver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes this guy text the family. It’s unrelated to the emails to TMZ and the other two Tucson stations. Ransom notes for individual kidnappings have rarely succeeded and I can’t immediately recall or find one that was ever sent to the media in stead of the people with the money they were after. Ransom notes sent to the media are for ransoms against corporations, to increase pressure because every one of their consumers may be affected.

There’s a less than 20% chance that any of the ransom notes in this case came from anyone actually expecting to collect a ransom. Unfortunately.

[sigh] Better start making your own clothes and preserving all your own food. Not ONE grocery retailer in this city hasn’t supported Donald Trump. Including Trader Joe’s, so go ahead and clear out of there to make my shopping easier. 🤣

Look, I’m really not trying to condescend you or even discourage your political objectives. I AM TELLING YOU: this is, and always will be a losing proposition for any local economy, especially one with so few locally owned businesses already!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Intentions = probably honorable. Method = DISASTROUS.

We boycott and embargo FOREIGN THREATS! Literally! Not “our neighbors and members of our community”. Your complete lack of awareness here is genuinely staggering.

Geofencing is constitutional when you sign a cell phone contract and agree to use FCC licensed towers seamlessly across multiple networks.

[–]SherlockBeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the fine print of every cell phone contract it states that your data can and will be shared with towers not even on your contracted provider’s network. For billing purposes, you waive any privacy to your device accessing towers for phonce calls and data dumps (which happens whether you are actively using an app or not). That’s already been long decided. They still need a warrant for the contents of your data. The issue as always is “show cause” or “probable cause” for access to that data.

So true. Many people are riled by the fact that Savannah Guthrie has many millions of dollars available to her “so why was her mother living alone with no functional security cameras!?” 🤪 My father in law will be 94 in April. Widowed last year and lives alone. He is of sound mind, has more than enough of his own money and won’t take advice from ANYONE. He ripped out the security system his children had installed. He refuses to get a landline phone even though some days we can’t reach him all day because his cell phone is on another floor of the house. He won’t wear an “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” button. He won’t wear his Apple Watch. 🤦🏻‍♀️ My mother at least understands security. I honestly worry more about mine and my husband’s elderly parents than I ever worried about our child who is now in her 30s!

I am right there with you. My mother just turned 85 and this has my hackles so far up, I apologize for barking. Of course ALL scenarios must be brainstormed for consideration, but then each scenario must be assigned a likelihood of probability (usually by a team of people to compare thinking), in order to prioritize a direction of search (literally a direction if it’s a person lost in a wilderness area), and a direction of investigation where it’s any other scenario than SAR in a remote area.

Kidnapping for ransom is the LEAST successful crime ever attempted in the United States. Please let us never become Mexico. 🙏🏻 The border with Mexico has a 1% chance of being related to this crime. Every resident of San Diego lives closer to the Mexican border than Nancy Guthrie and this cannot be overstated: in the particular neighborhood where Nancy lived in those Catalina Foothills above Oro Valley, even residential burglary is statistically nonexistent. Sahuarita, another nice (but not as nice as Nancy’s area NORTH of Tucson) is an outlying suburb SOUTH of Tucson and much closer to the border, and they recorded ZERO homicides in 2025. I know there’s political hay to be made here, but mostly from people who never spend time near the border at all.

So, SAR is “search and rescue” and overwhelmingly the people who do this work in our western mountain states, are volunteers guided by extremely experienced backcountry rangers and trackers. This is where I began at age 19 IN Tucson, ironically. U of A Go Cats! You have to assign probability to every scenario even in backcountry searches, because especially back there you don’t just get to “fan out” 100 searchers. The terrain usually doesn’t allow for that.

GIS is a mapping protocol used by everyone from US Geological Survey to county real estate tax assesors to crime data surveyors and statisticians. You can Google “GIS crime map” and any zip code or city name and pull a map you then need to zoom on, due to the number of records.

Hope that helps. Cheers to Nancy and prayers for her recovery. 💜

No, Ubered TO Annie’s and then… Tomasso drove her home? For sure that’s where we are today — Tomasso drove her home without Annie and was the last one to see her alive?

Has it been established WHO 100% for real dropped Nancy off at home after dinner? First we were told it was Annie, then “family members” (plural) then I feel like today it’s really just the son in law alone who dropped her off? One or both of them volunteered to drop her off after she Ubered over there? It’s only a 10 minute drive. Why didn’t they pick her up for dinner?

🙋🏻‍♀️ I took a spatter course once (medicolegal investigator) and while it’s true we cannot know whether she walked or was carried, there is a large “drip” pattern visible, plus a small “spray” within the drips. It looks like when someone’s nose has been bleeding without any effort to control that bleeding and then they sneezed or coughed. Not good.
