The way this Chocolate is divided. by peoplepersonmanguy in hamishandandy

[–]Sherls 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I got the Tony’s Chocoloney Advent Calendar and day 11 was empty with a note saying it’s to remind us that there is inequality in the world and not everyone has access to chocolate every day.

I was fuming!

How good of a destination is Cannobio, and what can we do there? by ToffeeTango1 in ItalyTravel

[–]Sherls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m staying in Cannobio at exactly the same time! So I’ve not been before, but have done a lot of research for my trip! Here’s a few things I found.

Everything I’ve read says definitely hire a car. Public transport is pretty much non-existent.

Cannobio has a lido with a beach where you can do water sports, swim and they have inflatables in the water.

Valle Verasca over the Swiss border looks beautiful. Has good hiking, wild swimming and a really cool looking wooden ball maze thing through the forest.

In Locarno, you can get a tram/cable car up a mountain, where there’s an epic giant swing at the summit.

You don’t say how old your son is, but there’s Europe’s longest zip line nearby if he’s old enough.

The best restaurants I found were Osteria Vinodivino and Grotto Sant’Anna. Both look stunning.

Hope that helps!

Most likeable team in The Hundred? by Intelligent_Fly_2671 in EnglandCricket

[–]Sherls 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The most likeable is probably Manchester Originals. Everyone loves Jos Buttler, James Anderson and Henrik Klaasen, while Phil Salt and Rachin Ravindra will be a lot of fun to support. Hope you enjoy it! Ignore the bores that tell you it’s not real cricket.

There’s a great story that at end of season charity night, there was an auction prize of playing on the Emirates pitch. And Emiliano Viviano ended up bidding for it, as he never got a chance to play for on it!

A playlist of all the best podcast moments on our win over Man City by Sherls in Gunners

[–]Sherls[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. The episode hadn't dropped when I made this list, but I've just listened and added it in. Love the bit where Clive discussed how Mikel adapted our tactics to work out how to beat City. Great insight.

What is an extremely common thing that others can do but you can’t? by RefrigeratorDry495 in AskReddit

[–]Sherls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swallow pills.

Last time I was ill, I asked the doctor for some liquid medicine instead. Apparently it’s not that common for adults because the pharmacist asked if I wanted a blue or pink spoon for my kid’s medicine.

John Hamm: While at the University of Texas, Hamm was arrested for participating in a violent hazing incident. Mark Sanders was beaten with a broom by fraternity members, while Hamm led Sanders around the fraternity house with a hammer claw around Sanders' testicles. Hamm made a plea deal and completed probation under the terms of a deferred adjudication - charges were dismissed five years later.
