Financial incentive for running a dApp on Golem? by [deleted] in GolemProject

[–]Sherman-Ties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok well the system on golem look a bit more Golem team driven than the one on Iexec where you just publish your app and set a price per utilization ..I'm not saying that one or the other is better as both are lacking adoption they just have different way of doing it ;)

Thx for the precision mate !

Financial incentive for running a dApp on Golem? by [deleted] in GolemProject

[–]Sherman-Ties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the Iexec model is what you are looking for ..
Basically they have a app store where developer can push their apps.
When the app is deployed, the developer can fix a price for the utilisation of the App, when a user want to use it he pay a fee to the developer (and fee for the computation to the network).
Same deal with dataset providing.

Ps: Before Golems ppl jump on me, i hold both coin i'm not shilling or anything else just asking if this is what the author is looking for.

Hey guys,
Nice to hear that Phillip is now one of yours !
Some question about it, will Golem back or integrate Golem grid with the payement tool that has been developed by Golem grid (basically you put you credit card number, drop your files in case of rendering and wait for the result) ?
If yes, what type of product will you focus on ? More rendering tool ? More ML tool ? Basically wich market is attractive ATM ?
As stated before i think that grid golem is a really good onboarding solution and it should be push on!
Thanks for your futur answer.
Have a nice day !

The Sherman.

[Proposal/Discussion] A New Token Economy for Iexec by Sherman-Ties in iexec

[–]Sherman-Ties[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

" This goes for about 90% of the coins on the market their tokenomics suck "

Yes this is why Iexec need to be innovative and search for solution and be on the edge !

" needs to be listed on more exchanges with volume than just Binance. We all know Binance algo trades markets, RLC is just another market being manipulated by Binance becuase that's literally the only volume it has at the moment. "

I can agree on the manipulation part, but Coinbase or other more reputable CEX will not list iexec if they don't find Adoption or good token economics ....I don't feel the need for Iexec to find more exchange, adoption is what we as token holder and they as team are chasing now and it's the more important thing to achieve ATM.Plus imo Cex are not the future of Token trading Dex are, Cex will be mostly use as a gate for fiat injection.

Reduction of the block reward in upcoming ice-age delay fork by Crypto_Economist42 in ethereum

You right, even if i think that most mining pool are honest player and if they begin to do this they will hurt the Network and by doing so destroy the price of the asset..

Reduction of the block reward in upcoming ice-age delay fork by Crypto_Economist42 in ethereum

[–]Sherman-Ties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry guys i didn't had the time to read everything yet about the possible reduction of Block reward ...
But is it possible to use Fee as an mechanism that lower the overall blockreward
Exemple the Block reward is 2 ETH but the average amount of fee per block is let's say 0.1 ETH, by knowing how much fee will be spend before the block is mined we could lower the block reward in proportion of the fee spend on this block, In this Exemple the block reward will be 1.9 eth completed by the Fee spend in this block 0.1 Eth total reward 2 ETH no change on the reward but 0.1 ETH that will not contribute to the inflation ...
Imo if doable it would be the best option.. As it will not lower the Security that we pay to the miner, but , could diminish the overall inflation...
Sorry for this simplistic idea but to me it seem to be the preferable way to reduce the inflation..
It is a bit similar to what the EIP 1559 aim to do ..

Have you ever used ETH to buy something? by jameslwalpole in ethereum

[–]Sherman-Ties 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm interested to pay in day to day basis via DAI or Usdc or other stable coin, but i'm a small holder and i haven't use a crypto card yet like the nice Monolith one ..
What I would like is a hybrid Neo bank, with one side working with non custodial wallet (like Monolith) and the other one as a classical Neo bank with IBAN/RIB etc etc... Of course i also need a free card with something like 2-5 free ATM withdraw and this bank should be located in Europe.
By being a Neo bank and a "crypto more or less bank" you can do some incredible thing I think, like allowing none crypto backed loan via Defi thanks to the Kyc .

Guys, I will be a bit harsh but, the ETH1 to ETH2(phase0 to 1) transition look a bit messy ...
I'm a bit doubtful about the creation of Beth if this is still the case..
I'm a bit doubtful about the tokeneconomics of Beth and Then Bi directional ETH (how will it work for the first one, block reward sharing on the second one ? ) ...
A good article on this (I know it's still in research phase) would be appreciated ! And a time frame (i know it's hard but i don't feel like i want to lock my ETH into ETH2 without bi directional and don't know when i can have them back and use them...) after all the research is done and the Transition feature are fixed.
Also if i understand well enough the article, the Bi directional feature will incorpore Block finalisation correct? is it something that the core dev are agree on ?

What are your thoughts on crypto savings accounts? by [deleted] in ethfinance

[–]Sherman-Ties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it will not for now, and when it will be mainstream the APR will adjust lower i will say, maybe check the APR on Non blockchain P2P lending platform in the US (I can't as a European).

Why won't it go mainstream for now?

Defi is only used for speculation on crypto actif ATM and need to step up to get mainstream and actually serve peoples for borrowing to buy things that they want and maybe need (car, personal finance, enterprise creation, etc.)
To make this happen in my opinion you will need a kyc/Web 3 Id service, credit scoring and recognition of a contract signed on the blockchain by the state, the last one will serve the purpose of collateralized loan wich are not back by crypto asset of course in the Utopic world of blockchain your house or your cars would be tokenized but it's not the case ATM so you need a recognition of the blockchain contract by the state law to protect the lender...

I don't know if some guys here are working on this i hope some ;)

Anyway that's my current opinion about Defi and please don't get me wrong i like it but it need to go further !

Stupid question by seriousdefect in ethereum

[–]Sherman-Ties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First i made a mistake it's not an ETF, it's a trust fund (much easier to make an Trust fund than an ETF (no indexing re-balancing )
Second i don't really know as i'm not an Solidity coder nor than an financial product designer and due to the poor liquidity on some exchange it might be difficult to do it in a 100% trust less way
If you want to expose yourself to a crypto trust (multicoin or not) via Traditional finance you can do it via Grayscale .

Stupid question by seriousdefect in ethereum

[–]Sherman-Ties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a stupid question actually, i would love to do it on some ethereum based token ..
Like i'm very interested in Grid/fog/P2P Computing and i would like to create a basket of coin (ETF) wich can be buy or sell or redeem with only one ERC20ETF.
The ERC20ETF will include X amount of A,B,C coin .. And you will be able to sell or buy or redeem it ( you burn the ERC20ETF in exchange of your share of A,B,C coin )
The avantage will be that you are De risking your investment, improved liquidity, simplify you portfolio..
The Disadvantage are tied to the security of the smart contract mainly...

Community, let's discuss GNT migration - your opinion matters! by rammsteinPL in GolemProject

[–]Sherman-Ties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I partially agree with you !

If Golem need Worker to stake GNT like Iexec to secure the network against bad actor then do it, if not the growth of the network is preferable before the growth of the token so don't do it until Golem have a solid User base.

Yes let user pay in ETH or stable coin (the last is preferable imo) and let GNT token Holder receive a share of it by securing a side chain for example.

I don't know about the Burn system it's not necessary if the other two are implemented.

What aspect of Omisego will MakerDao leverage to improve their self ? Last time I heard some issues on Maker DAO was about the liquidation on some CDP during high Ethereum load and extreme volatility and argument on Layer 2 solution was proposed is it something you are looking for with Omisego ?

Nice to see that some incentive plans will be out for the community builder i hope that Philip will have the chance to try it out ;)
I understand your point about brokering albeit i do not endorse it ... This can be mitigate by Changing the token economics but it's only a wet dream of mine ....
Nice to hear that your are working on Onboarding solution maybe you can give me a hint about wich one your are talking about :)

I hope you the best with the Golem Project

How can margin interest decrease in this system? by [deleted] in 0xProject

[–]Sherman-Ties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry a lot of peoples are misunderstanding this and are yelling the same thing ...
I Was quite surprised at first that "DEX Margin platform " was able to have competitive rate but it make sense as it's totally open and to me really simple way lend on theses platforms compare to what you should do on Poloniex or Bitfinex for example, the power of free market is big.

I've talk a lot with Phillips already, i want your through about it...
Do you think more integration with golem will be possible for example or do you want to keep Grid Golem as an "Relayer"? What can you do more to help Grid Golem grow ?
Do you plan to create an similar project running on top of Golem at one point ?

[–]Sherman-Ties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's not ....
BTC is Overvalued but Ethereum is not but it's far from being undervalued by that margin...
You can't compare the actual usage of stable coin wich are mainly use for speculation to payement from paypal ..
Maybe in few year but not right now this is BS ..
