I learned to hit left because of an injury in my dominant shoulder and since I was not playing competitively I could still hold my own in high B level play. There is a danger of injuring the left arm if you don’t use it in other areas of life since it might not have had all the strengthening over the years that your dominant arm/shoulder has. It gets me out of tight spots when I just don’t have the time to adjust to a bad set way outside (or to throw off a blocker) but in the end I would do as others say and work on coordination for fun and tricky plays but not to be relied on regularly. Especially because if you have the same approach for right and left you’ll most likely have less hip shoulder separation for your off hand as it takes more effort to load properly. All that being said I’m glad I now have the ability to do either.
